What's the biggest lie you were told?

"The water is shallow." Tells a father to his young son, before yeeting him out of the boat into the cold water in an attempt to teach him how to swim. Once the boy's feet touch the sandy seafloor, he doesn't think: "Heh~ that statement would have been true if I were another 30 cm taller...

What's the biggest lie you were told?

"Resolving to use violence against violence is wrong." :blob_catflip: It can easily be a lie in certain circumstances. In general I would say that you simply didn't use enough violence! An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth! I'm pretty sure that there are a greater number of decent people...

What's the biggest lie you were told?

Hold up! One question. Why would she lie about it? Maybe it wasn't a lie from her perspective? Was it just a personal quirk that she always used margarine and never liked butter? I'm just curious.:blob_hmm_two:

What's the biggest lie you were told?

Anything is fine, be it small or big, personal or just a general fact. Even something as insignificant as the damn label saying that its chocolate chip cookies, but it's NOT! God damn raisins! Public whipping is an appropriate punishment for such a mistake!:blobspearpeek:

    Dark or light stories

As long as I don't have to set my suspension of disbelief completely into overdrive, I don't mind the darker ones. However, I believe that writing a lighter story with a bit of darkness is easier, as there's always a "Deus ex power of friendship" or something to fill in the plot holes when the...

Please answer the question. "What is anime?"

The truest male fantasy in all of existence! That, which cannot be obtained, but its temptation is ever calling. Shrines of sweat and blood are created and destroyed each day in search for the one unifying form, that is its resplendent embodiment!

On vacation in a foreign country. Share an episode.

One of those: "Good idea, everything checks out, let's make preparations, we'll be relaxing on vacation in no time..." Then life slaps you back down to earth :blob_teary:.

On vacation in a foreign country. Share an episode.

I can somewhat relate to that. Bought a box of something that looked like dry sweets in a food shop (I can't read Japanese at all) and used precious backpack space to bring it back. Turned out to be some inedible decoration thing! And I've give that shit away to other people before finding out...

On vacation in a foreign country. Share an episode.

Anyone wants to share any embarrassing/funny/positive episodes from their personal experience? Here's mine: (it was back in 2015) Summer vacation in Japan. It's my first week and I'm going out to visit some museums around the big city. Google maps app in hand, I go to the train station and buy a...

    Drafts

Aren't drafts basically your writing BEFORE it is put up for others to see? Smallest example: You wrote a sentence, noticed a mistake, fixed it, moved on. Technically, you've had a draft and then finalized it. I do a quick read of my draft preview before I press the publish option. I imagine...

Pet Peeve Tropes and how to deconstruct them

Now THAT :blob_hmm: is a bit more horrifying. A whole institution build around limb modification of prisoners. Officially treating them like spare parts for a piece of equipment. I'm imagining the 40K universe.

Pet Peeve Tropes and how to deconstruct them

There is no option to cripple the villain? He is obviously evil and dangerous, so cut of all his limbs or something. There! Problem solved. Villain is both alive and neutralised, simply a limbless thing awaiting judgement by whatever authority you throw it to. They blame you? It was either him...

    Would it be weird to...

:blob_frown: are ratings important? Heh, never noticed that. If you have a reader leaving comments and interacting with your story, then sure give it a go, why not? Maybe you'll get more feedback that way. If it's just a random reader that is playing dead, then you are just pathetically...

    Welcome thread for the newbies!

Username is fine. I've not really used forums much, ever, so I'm not expecting to be active. Nature, occasionally fishing, baking, peace and quiet, cycles of gaming/TV/anime/novels/manga. Isekai, sci-fi, horror, adventure, a bit of romance. Non brain dead characters are preferred, "I'm a...

Do you bother favoriting a chapter

That's the problem. It is a "favorite" and not a "like". I'd hazard a guess that the name is a problem for most casual readers (I have literally have NEVER used it in my however many years on SH). :blob_cookie: this little fellow is more of a "like" indicator for the smaller novels.
