Most people don't update which chapters they've read. In addition people dump stuff on their reading lists to binge later AND some people don't like when a story drops a dozen chapters in a couple days and will drop it.

Yes. I almost never favorite chapters. I'm sure there are MANY people who never do.

I'll drop books because of repeated mass releases. For context i read like 40 stories on here, 40 on novelupdates and a bunch on RR. So if you drop a ton of chapters I'll feel like i have better uses of my time. I'll start stories with hundreds of chapters no problem but the second 20 chapters...

Do like the books Game of Thrones is based off of. Add a Glossary that has a list of characters and who they are in relation to others. Then just in author's notes mention that you've actually used the Glossary.

Just finish your stories if you drop them because of lack of support/RL issues. Besides the fact it'll take time to finish and might not have people care shouldn't stop you from finishing things you like.

I mean it's always better to make characters legal if there's sexual stuff. But if nothing actually happens i don't think it is necessary.

Honestly I hate batch release stories. They tend to quickly run out of chapters, or be difficult to catch up on, or burn out. Releasing 1 a day shows dedication and in the long term is easy to manage. Plus new readers won't feel like they can't catch up.

On the other hand shippers tend to think EVERY character secretly likes each other. You will 100% see people thinking Voldemort and Harry Potter had a thing going on. They will be serious. Though in general i agree with your point.

People (as in me) have a tendency to be totally fine with long stories but NOT fine with 50 chapters added in a week. After all there are SO MANY stories of roughly the same quality and genre on these sites. Why not read stories you can actually keep up with? Plus batch releases tend to have...
