Which type of antagonist do you prefer: the moral antagonist or the villain antagonist?

Can't they be both? After all, a guy who is fighting for his people, to prevent their slavery by the forces of their antagonist, to save their world and way of life, could still be a villain, especially if they were like, a demon. I like putting my characters in funny-shaped boxes.

    For new authors

writing tip: after you know how to do it yourself is the best time to ask an AI for polish. When you don't know what you are doing, you won't understand the changes it is making, which will lead to AI (which are incredibly stupid) making absolutely ridiculous changes which you could otherwise...

    You know what I hate?

You know what I hate? Onion rings. I mean, there's a ton of cool stuff you can do with onions, but instead you just like..dunk it in gooey flour and water, coat it with more flour, and call it food? ick. oh, yeah, and chapter numbers suck, but so does cleaning your driveway. It's just gotta be...

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

I'm a pantser too, to an extent, but my planning starts when I introduce a character. I need a character for the way the plot is going, to fill a certain role, and then a take time out to flesh them out and make a bunch of notes while I am deciding on what role to write them into. At the very...

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

Sure, me too, but it's like cooking. I love cooking, but it's still a hell of a lot of work.

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

research, characterization, background building, personality work, motivation tasking. You know, all the work you HAVE to do on a character, enemy or friend, that appears in your book. I mean, sure, you can have nameless hordes, but if they are important enough to have a name, they are important...

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

My favorites and least favorites are pretty much determined by the amount of extra work they cost me each time I have to write them :P

How to write a Sports scene?

First off, Jargon: A tiny, minor amount of Jargon, hopefully explained quickly, makes it feel genuine. Too much Jargon, and it makes the reader feel like you are mocking their ignorance. But, like Worthy39 said, it really depends on the sport. Golf needs an entirely different level of tension...

    Requesting writing advice.

I tend to use sarcastic inner thoughts in my protagonist, the humor helps to defray the tension, especially during horrifying or dark scenes that may last several chapters.

Have you ever sat on a novel idea too long and now it became stale because someone else wrote it?

I think the covid panic artificially inflated the number of readers for a few years. After people got sick of the panic, they went back to their usual habits of not reading.

As an author, how do you feel when you reread your novels?

I think that's why I prefer not to delve into smut. Re-reading my own work after several months can give me fresh eyes, but I used to be on furryMUCK before it went pure homoerotic smut, and looking back at those chapters and chapters of work writing good 'scenes', they are boring. Last year I...

Is a traditional comic still a thing nowadays???

The primary market for traditional comic books has been the English-speaking world. We are broke. We cannot afford the increased cost of printed comics anymore. By comparison, my hourly rate is barely enough to buy two comic books for an hour's worth of work, when that same (much smaller)...

Everyone who has taken the time and effort to become competent in a language can take pride in their knowledge of it, and ownership of that knowledge and ability, but since I don't wish to get banned, I am not going to argue with your response. You win. Congratulations.

GUYS! I AM STOCK! Should ı send the new chapter that already 16 pages or write more?

He asked a very straightforward question. I gave a straightforward answer. I am sorry that you don't consider honesty classy enough. I received a very similar answer when I was on the Russian language writing forums. The best answer for an author who cannot write the language in question is 'go...

GUYS! I AM STOCK! Should ı send the new chapter that already 16 pages or write more?

Not impressing me by quoting me three times. And yes, I am rude when I find people mangling a language I take great pride in expressing. It's as bad as racism or culturalism. And yes, I started reading your... creation, and it was the linguistic equivalent of bad fingerprinting. I am not cursing...
