Some things have to be done very specifically, like ending certain battles with Distortion or Astral Finish. The reason it is third, is because you do get hints on what you had to do. Not good...

    Valkyrie Profile comes second with this. Only because, you really don’t need a guide for every single moment. However, you will almost certainly never find the True End without it. And the True End is necessary to understand the second game.

    Nights of Azure did it in a pretty good way too. Where you can adjust it after you beat the game to see each end. However, the True End requires reloading the file and doing the True End quests, which are brutal. Then you go to complete the final boss again.
