I sometimes wonder if there are stories out there where the hero dies, and the day is still ruined?

I am a simple man. I would imagine out stories first, and when I feel confident that this story that I created within my mind will hold as a solid story, I start to plot out the primary story details and such. Then of course I start writing it out.
