Which is better buying games from steam or having physical copies of the game?

You cannot make a room dedicated to storing your most prized possession when it's digital.

Do you base your characters on people you know? If so, how many of them know?

None. I built my characters from the beginning because I like to plan backstory and their involvement in the overall world. Their personality comes after the plot, not the other way around. Maybe that's why most of them are of insane and indifference disposition.

    WIP Competition

One thing; if this is going to be like NaNoWriMo, then none of the theme or anything like that should be there. Either the theme would be so abstract it could be for any genre, or your competition will fail by the virtue of every participant has a too similar of a story, or simply has no...

If Your Story Was A Videogame, What Would Its Genre Be?

I'll mail my hand-written certification to whoever did it. Then went back to add nightmare mode and added more annoyingly difficult encounters. :blob_evil:

If Your Story Was A Videogame, What Would Its Genre Be?

Complex puzzles, borderline meta-gaming, impossibly-hard boss fights, cryptic lore, forced encounters. No save in-between runs, permanent death for everyone except the main protagonist, but if sanity dropped to 0 then the protagonist is also out. The game ends when either you make it to the...

    WIP Competition

If your story was a video game, what would be your loading screen tips?

Don't assume anything, even if it's most likely the truth. Don't deal with evil. Nothing is of no significance. Free Will? What's that? If anything can go wrong, then it will go worse.

The most plot formula to avoid in writing a good story

Still nope. You can structure the plot around a predetermined outcome, and the story is still good.

The most plot formula to avoid in writing a good story

Not true. At all. A good plot isn't about unpredictability. It's all in the execution. If the readers correctly guess your plot, DO NOT forcefully change it. I can guarantee you that it will become trash. Case in point, Game of Throne.
