Looking at my read list, 50% fanfic, 22.5% adventure fantasy, 15% slice of life fantasy, 12.5% crafting fantasy. Only got 1 harem, and no smut in my list. So not everyone is into those tags. My adult content is in video, game, or doujin form. Never really desired it in word form.

Funny thing is, I played the Vampire: The Masquerade and it had an open ending. An ending of 'freedom to choose' is still an ending. If you ever read the first Dune book or 2001, you can see there plenty left open, but they end at a point where it's fine to not read more.
