    I have a slight predicament

I'm not being critical, I'm asking questions. I want to know what to expect before I pick up a book to read. Reading a book takes time and time is an investment. If I'd really only want to read a book because I think it's going to have X thing and then it doesn't, then I've wasted my time on...

    I have a slight predicament

Hm... Cinderella's an easier story to remove the magic from, though, because its core themes really revolve around a poor/abused girl sneaking into a ball and the prince being able to recognise her in her poor form afterwards. The magic is sort of an extra. The Little Mermaid's core elements...

    Harem or single heroine?

It depends on the kind of story you're writing and who your target audience will be. There are certainly readers who enjoy a stereotypical Japanese harem, and readers who prefer harems where the characters are more developed. There are also many others who prefer one-on-one and despise any...

    I have a slight predicament

Out of interest, if there's no magic and no physical transformation, how will you keep the story of The Little Mermaid? Those are pretty pivotal to the original story.

Questions about contest preparations! Morals contest

You don't have to make it run that long if it's stressful - I'm sure shorter competitions would be welcomed too.

Questions about contest preparations! Morals contest

The current official SH contest, the Metus contest, runs from the 30th of August to the 1st of December. The Yuri Garden's annual competition also runs from the 1st of June to the 31st of July. So, while I don't think there's an official limit to how long a competition can run, Scribble Hub...

What kind of tropes/genres/plots/cliches do you usually look for when reading a brand new [web]novel?

I read GL/Girls Love for the most part. Normally I start by looking for something that's pure GL, with no hetero stuff mixed in. Need to make sure it's real GL too, and not just some disappointing softcore yuribait. I also look for stories that aren't cis men GB, have a real plot to accompany...

Fun little thing to learn about writers/artists! (Enter yourself or someone you enjoy)

Alrighty~! Well, I'm Moonpearl, an author and the creator/runner of the Yuri Garden. ---------------------------------------- The Yuri Garden is a thread/fanclub on SHF's sister site, Novel Updates Forums. It's for all sapphic media (but especially translated Asian novels) and has been running...

Are we supposed to introduce ourselves? Or just talk about our work?

Offering funding for art and story commissions!

Welcome to the forum~! That's a great idea - I think we have a lot of writers here who are strapped for cash, so that will help them a lot. Personally I have my own money and I'd rather just stop being stingy and commission some art than take someone else's. If you like trans stories, I...

Grand Adventure Project. Discord! Come join!

It sounds really interesting but, unfortunately, I already have my hands full running the Yuri Garden and with the collaborative projects I'm part of. I'll keep it in mind for the future, though~!

"Franchise" has the same problem - it's a word for businesses and money-making, with the implication that you're working under someone who owns it. Free-for-all collaborative projects are typically called, well... Projects. Or something neutral like that.

Grand Adventure Project. Discord! Come join!

Hm... But the way you're calling it a "brand" makes it feel less like a collaborative project where everyone will get equal credit for their contributions, and more like being a ghost writer for free. I can tell you probably don't mean it that way, but it's not a good vibe.

I think he's trying to set up something like the Kammiverse, but I think that has to happen organically to really work well. Otherwise, going the SCP Foundation route, where everyone creates the universe together, might be better.

Sometimes I wish I could hold some sort of reunion for the authors who were writing at the same time as me during my fanfiction days. It would be so nice to reminisce, and I still have so many questions for them...

A novel in which the MC got reincarnated as an elf then made a toy by futanari dark elves

The fact she wrote that it will be back one day makes me doubt that. Authors who are chased off wouldn't be making promises to come back very soon. But it's all just speculation. Myrane doesn't seem to want to talk about it, so we can only respect her privacy.

A novel in which the MC got reincarnated as an elf then made a toy by futanari dark elves

The author deleted it, not Tony. She never specified a reason, but she had it taken down everywhere. Her author page says the novel will be back someday, though.
