How did you improve your writing style?

My writing style drastically changed after taking a high school course focused on grammar and the English syntax. My advice is to use grammarly if you are just starting out, but think of expanding your knowledge about the English lexicon by buying a book about grammar and sentence structure. As...

    Can everyone make a series?

you can also start the chapter with either an announcement or authors note using the according buttons. They work about the same as the spoiler mechanic, but will instead highlight the text instead of omitting it.

What do you think is the easiest story to write 'til completion? (Novel format)

That's so true! Sometimes it can be harder to write shorter stories because they have less to actually look upon, and as a result can be rated and reviewed much more quickly upon features that can be lacking since a shorter story would implicate that each word is just as important as a placement...

What do you think is the easiest story to write 'til completion? (Novel format)

Prompt fulfilling short stories are hard to fuck up. There are also plenty of prompts to fulfill in the forums, where writing prompts has its own section. They are also great for practice.

Discontinued (on Hiatus) or Deleted Novels

There was one bl novel that I read, the title was something around the likes of "I'm just a cannon fodder so why are the Hero and Villain acting like this?!" It was very funny and cute, so it was disappointing when it got deleted.

Deciding on Writing a Fluffy Story!

Hahah, you might have seen one of my other novels on there then, which hasn’t reached the part of the story with childcare. But I do agree with your statement, some of the stories with the childcare tag currently are quite... well, you know.

Deciding on Writing a Fluffy Story!

Deciding on Writing a Fluffy Story!

Hey there readers! I'm mostly known for writing dramatic psychological novels here on the site, but I'm planning on releasing a fluffy novel soon! However, I'm still deliberating on which fluffy series I am going to release. So, I wanted to gather public opinion on which one to release first. 1...

    Thoughts about reviews?

That’s another important point with all of this regarding reviews. I try to include both elements in my reviews so that they appeal to both the author and reader, but there are no clarification on the site about these things, so it’s hard to know. It also comes with the fact that a reader...

    Thoughts about reviews?

I definitely agree with this; I often read reviews to find out whether the story is worth my time, as synopsis's often have a habit of being maybe 100 words on average, and sometimes don't even mention the main character at all, relying instead on reader intrigue to hook the reader into reading...

    Thoughts about reviews?

Ah, Hey Chocolily, no hard feelings. It happens, and we all view our novels with a sense of pride, and my words might have come across as crass or cutting, which I didn't intend to do, as all was in a jesting manner, but things can always be misinterpreted as there's a lacking sense of propriety...

    Thoughts about reviews?

I love to leave reviews on novels I read, and even more so on people who actually want to hear feedback, but I find that most people on SH have this reluctance with both writing reviews and receiving reviews. Especially since some people who don't like reviews that point out the downsides of...

    Page/Word Count more visible

Yeah! And I know that eventually someone is going to come in here, as they always do, and say that the word count is visible, but it’s only through the statistics tab. I’d love to know avg word count for chapter and word count for the entire series on the actual novel page as it’s easier to...
