Do you limit how many chapters you read?

Not quite the question but one thing I like to do when reading serials is to keep 10-20 chapters behind. That way I keep control over when I have to stop - I won't run out of story while either I'm still enjoying my reading session, or the chapter ends on a cliffhanger.

    Derp?

You can absolutely do it without smut, I've got one single sex scene across all my three stories, but they're basically just standard character novels featuring a trans protagonist undergoing a magical transformation. In terms of messaging its not so much about pushing a political agenda so...

Secrets of the one above game

The one above spends their weekends in Starbucks loudly reading aloud Les Miserables in the original French. They do this in the hope of appearing cultured. They do not understand French.

Which idea would you rather read?

Pirate feels the more fun scenario, but the battle academy pitch felt more intruiging because it had conflict. Allowing that you throw in some in-baked obstacle or drawback to being Siren-blooded for the pirate to deal with, then I'd settle on that.

How do you feel about animal death within a work?

What's the most important part of a fight scene?

Perhaps I'd say character psychology? As in, what is the purpose of the scene to the hero's internal journey. So for example, if I was writing Return of the Jedi, the most important part of the Jabba rescue would be to showcase Luke's growth, serene confidence and control of the situation as a...

Writing a thesis or fiction, which is more difficult?

Depends how much work you put in, but thesis has a much higher floor. You can put thousands of hours preparing intricate characters, themes and world building and create a Tolkeinian masterpiece, or you can create something fairly readable at this level shooting from the hip. By contrast if...

Who is the character you like the most and who is the character you hate the most in your novel?

That depends: - If you mean who would I want a drink with, it'd be a pirate princess and her first mate bestie, who I tried to write with a sort of sassy chicks meet Fred and George Weasley energy. They'd be very fun to hang out with. - If it's my favourite creation, possibly it'd be a whiny...
