    Errors in stories

Ok, I am willing to point out typos, in hopes the author will take it graciously. But if after a few chapters and nothing is edited, I will stop doing so with that author. If the errors are to many for my immersion into their story, I will drop the story.

    Moral scapegoats

In Xianxia stories there are Aphrodisiacs that cause a person to go completely out of control and make them need to have sex (sometimes dying if they do not); they are also seemingly semi-easy to get. But no Xianxia cultivator ever carries the antidote to said known aphrodisiacs on them, even...

Your opinions on the portrayal of drow in fantasy novels

Just an FYI. That level adjustment thing. I absolutely hated it as a player. But it was a good way to reign in the cheesiest of cheese monkeys. But yes, they were not worth the level adjustment when that came out.

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

Everything is a matter of opinion. For me: the Pointy chin, lobeless ears, semi spiky hair, hair coming down by the ears but they are not sideburns, little to no mouth when closed, snub nose. To me the others are just much better art, over decades of Polishing.

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

I Disagree: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ataru_Moroboshi This was the break out anime for male oriented harem style anime and many followed its exact footprints since. The first Anime I ever watched, and nearly all the other Male leads I have watched since were his brothers it seems. Also...

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

To be fair historical western countries had this issue too, but due to the cunning of sitting Roman Rulers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Council_of_Nicaea) and the central consolidation of one Religion for all or else we will kill you early on. It did not as blatantly cause as seemingly...

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

Indeed, though truth be told. Historically many of the religious sects in China and other Eastern countries acted exactly like that. They took over territories got paid in taxes, people and so on. Very much a headache for various Governments.

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

No, they are not that bad. They are worse and better at the same time. A lot of it is Mary Sue + Cultural (Cultural norms that most of the west has mitigated or gotten rid of). When reading them you have to take in the cultural norms that most westerners do not expect, but their Authors must...

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

I am one of those people who is a Jack of all trades in RL (Definition: A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes is better than a master of one.) Some people would get pissed over it; as in at least two cases violently angry at me for it, when I was younger. Now they might still...

What are the minor things that makes MC (any kind) hateable?

This in Spades. It would be one thing for the MC to be so nervous and they refuse or has another reason (even a bad one) to refuse, but yeah that extreme level of denseness just grates on me. Especially when it is from someone who has had previous sexual encounters in the first place.

Your opinions on the portrayal of drow in fantasy novels

As a GM: Drow = Cheese Monkeys. Dark Elves = Either Edge lord players, Emo wannabes or worse they think they are playing Drow. Sometimes a combination of all three. As a player: Drow = Cheese Monkeys. Yes, I used to like playing them. Dark Elves: Meh whatever, do they get anything good? As...

    How to rank adventurer.

Just another take on everything, meaning nothing really. You could always wing it, like the real world does. "Real World" Adventurers did not have "rank of adventurer" they had job titles+responsibilites and could go up in said titles+responsibilites or down, as their fortunes changed. You...

    Anoying/hateable character in story

It is funny, when you are a teen or preteen (gender does not matter) and the one peeking. Rarely does the peeked on agree with it being funny. Indeed after a certain point it becomes tedious. Where the point is depends on how often and why the water works keep happening. Tsunderes that are all...

A character’s morals are challenged during the story.

Depends on the lapse in judgement based on the morals shown already by the character. Then if it is not dealt with by author with an explanation why or rectification, it could put off the readers. Also, only putting a comment in the authors notes or in the comment section, is not conducive to...

    Traditional Medieval stories

So funny side note. Many Modern medieval films get one thing wrong that earlier medieval films got right. It might be for reasons other then period accuracy, but it makes them period inaccurate. If they are going to a feast or faire they are not going to be wearing drab clothing, they are going...

How to Stop a Strong Character from Becoming a Mary Sue

I can think of some good and some good/bad and some bad reasons. But the easiest? It is because Mary Sue rolls of the tongue better than Gary Stue and it has an origin from back in the 1970's, written by someone writing Trekkie fan fiction. May young Lt. Mary Sue live long and prosper, oh wait...
