Holy shit, that's pretty impressive!

I got back into MT at the start of 2020 because of the Roxy manga. Because fuck, that actually makes me understand Roxy's appeal.

There's nothing I really want to fix from what I've written so far. I only want to add stuff instead, from certain scenes to fancy quotes like in Mushoku Tensei, written by the MC (it's supposed to be from an in-universe book).

What? A rewrite once it's over? I doubt I'll do that.

I can't go all the way with the wish-fulfillment though. So my MC ends up like that instead of the more traditional type. And I'm getting some inspiration from this other isekai I forgot the name about with a similar, weak-hearted isekai MC.

But, after I get older, I grew tired of complaining about isekai. What's the point on doing it when people won't agree with it? And with my life kinda going down the shitter, more and more I can see the appeal of the wish-fulfillment in the genre. So I try my hand in writing my own isekai. And...

Hah, time. It's almost a full year since I started writing. When the story ends, that's it. It will just get buried under other stories forever.

Sadly, I do want to be popular as well. I've abandoned stories before that don't have enough attention according to my taste. But I want to be popular from writing something I like. Because I can't spend what must have been hundreds of hours writing 500k words just to write something I'm not...

Hmm, guess I can add how pathetic the MC is on the summary. Not sure how to word it so people won't get the wrong idea though. I only said that there would be both sad moments and heartwarming moments. Nothing about the MC there. The title should have clued them in though. :blob_pat_sad:

You can also go the route where he has all these ladies interested in him but he has no interest in them whatsoever, preferring to do dumb stuff instead. A chad who doesn't need any girls. That's a fantasy for unpopular men. :s_tongue:

Badass isekai MC is either the edgy types like Shield Hero and Arifureta, or the comedic ones like that isekai where the MC just suplexes everyone including the princess that summons him.

No. He would never be an overpowered badass MC. I don't really like that kind of character in the first place. What he would be is a responsible, brave, and dare I say it, heroic, especially when it involves his family.

That's why I made him less of a "cool" person like Rudy from Mushoku Tensei (main inspiration for my story), who's always the smartest guy in the room, with his mental breakdowns not leading to anyone dying (not to mention it happens much later on in the story, which is smart since it baits...

I just feel it's not realistic enough to make him easily be able to overcome his flaws.

The problem is getting there takes so much words, since the story isn't just about his development. It's also about the side characters he meets and developing his harem member as well.
