I believe that is the case. Over the years I came up with multiple "random" names for various characters, by stringing together mostly random letters until I got a result I liked... all of them I eventually found already exist in one language or another, with most of them being relatively common...

It's funny, if you rely on your brain to make up random stuff, you will never get a truly random result. At best your brain will approximate patterns it is already familiar with.
