Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

believe it or not, but furry is quite popular. most writers in the subgenre are worse than bad naruto fanfic quality though.

Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

Nah, I just decided to pull it to rewrite. I'm keeping chapter 1 as is, but I'm going to be revamping pretty much everything about it. It'll be live again next week.

Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

nah, it's the base of worldbuilding. The basic idea. The bottom line of "What if..." That all worldbuilding starts with. I like the idea and characters and want to continue that. But I'd have to go back and rework the entire foundation to do so.

Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

lol I've been writing off and on for about a decade, but I've only been posting anything live on this account. I don't really want perfection, I just want to not hate what I'm writing. Like I said, chapters 3 onward basically just repeat the same (lame) jokes. So I'll likely keep chapter 1, but...

Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

The primary issue is fundamental worldbuilding and expository and redundant dialogue (which I didn't catch on the reread/editing process, unfortunately). The issue is, I don't like what I ended up writing. I still ADORE chapter 1. Perfect opening sequence, in my opinion. even chapter 2 wasn't...

Seriously thinking about scrapping my Fursekai novel.

So, I've received some criticism regarding its core writing. I've also noticed some glaring issues with it myself. I'm just curious on everyone else's thoughts. If I continue with it, I'll have to scrap it as is and rewrite it from the ground up (or at least chapter 2 onward). My issue is, it's...

When rating something do you see a 5/10 as average or failing?

When ranking others, 5/10 is average. When I see my own ratings, 8/10 is average.

    Challenge for scribblehub authors

nada, zip, zilch, zero. Multiple results about OTHER things that have similar words, but nothing about MY story specifically. I suppose that's both good and bad. No one's scraped them, but at the same time, it's not popular enough to have a google result...

Seizing the day is so exhausting

no lie, this kind of sounds like the start of an existential horror novel I started years ago. the MC was just slogging through life, exhausted by the constant need to do as he wanted. Can't rest or relax because I'm on a time limit. Gotta do everything on the check list of everything I want to...

How much details do you use?

I view it like an anime - What you draw the reader's attention to is what's important. Background CAN add flavor, but most people won't notice it anyhow. As such, I use enough detail to paint the picture I want. Beyond that, it's up to the reader to fill in the blanks. Did I mention the COLOR of...

    Do you use slang?

I use slang in dialogue, but not in narration. I also ensure to spell it correctly (At least as much as I can. I also use accents appropriate to the character). Then again, I also use racism (fantasy races. so orcs might be called "piggies"), so maybe I'm not the best example lol. One thing...

Writing Prompt how has life curb stomped you?

That's my goal right now. But I've found workarounds for most of it. still sucks to have to deal with it though. My brother in law had the "no taste" aftereffect, but his suddenly returned one day about 4 years after he had it. It's a long shot, but I'm hoping thats the case for me :)

Writing Prompt how has life curb stomped you?

I had the big virus. Survived easily, but since then I haven't been able to sweat. I'm exceedingly susceptible to heat stroke. Doing anything too physical results in me getting heat stroke - even just cooking in winter without the AC on can result in me being nauseous and even throwing up. Docs...

    High Fantasy or Isekai?

both have their place. As for which I like more... I can't really say. I used to read high fantasy more, but in recent years, it seems like 95% of high fantasy stories are framed with an isekai premise, as it's just so insanely easy to justify the MC not knowing anything when they're complete...

    speaketh your struggle meal

Puke on a Platter (aka P.O.P). Basically, whatever protein, sauce, and veggie you have access to on filler. Most common for us was mushroom soup, a can of tuna, and a can of peas, mixed, heated, and put over toast. I often went a step further to pan toast with some kind of fat (most common...

    cannibalism question

it's not, but I'd like to clarify a few things: First, it's no different, fundamentally, from normal meat. You die and feed a plant. A cow eats the plant. Your kid eats the cow. Not cannibalism. However, cutting out the grass part, you die and are eaten by a carnivore, the carnivore is then...

    Teenager activities

my area has a year round activity center that changes the activities based on season and weather. Spring/summer they offer mini golf, go karts, and a wooden maze (you collect 4 stamps and make it to the end, and the specifics of the maze change weekly as they move the walls and goals). In...
