On the wiki page for the painting Saturn Devouring His Son there is the quote, "But never before and never since, as far as we know, has a major, ambitious cycle of paintings been painted with the intention of keeping the pictures an entirely private affair." But like, how would you even know...

    Why Evil MC's?

To an extent, I'd just like to see them get taken down a peg. If I wanted to watch evil people continue to win, I'd start watching politics

Note to the person who submitted a work order for their "Ice maker intermittently making noises": You possibly, maybe, might be something that doctors like to call "stupid asf"

    The Plot without the Protagonist

I suppose you could go off of works that don't have a solid protagonist, like Journal of a Plague Year or Middlemarch but most educated readers wouldn't call these novels in the truest sense. More of a catalogue of events. Hard but not impossible, you'd have to abandon plot in favor of a...

    Fresh Poetry Thread

This is great, and most modern poetry has zero rhyme scheme anyways. I really like it, and it's hard to explain but between "saffron", "sunset" and "deserted" this poem is reminiscent of the color maroon.

    Fresh Poetry Thread

Been over a year since the last poetry thread, it's some of my favorite writing. Post something two stanzas or more, I'd love to see what you're proud of! I'll start off with mine from a summer issue of Gyroscope Review. A WORLD WITHOUT NOISE What a wonder to exist only as a jagged spire...

Sure, they're three middle school kids (from left to right, 1, 2, and 3) more obsessed with skating than graduating, hoping that if they win the prize money for this years National Tournament they might be able to find a career with their boards. "You know, if we f*ck this up none of us are...

    Perfect Prose Is Dead

Seconds after finding out his first wife is pregnant, he thinks something like "I wouldn't mind having sex with my little sister at all (who is, don't forget, a literal child), but it would mess with the family dynamic too much" Normal people don't have these thoughts, those are actual predator...

    Perfect Prose Is Dead

Weirdly enough? Still in the milk isle. I guess there's lots of choices ? Also? I'm not saying there aren't any good stories being told, or any media being released, just that there's been a general acceptance in the decrease of quality in books specifically. As for technical writing, no...
