In your family, your grandpa being cared might mean that he important to your family/respected by your family. By your perspective, I feel he didn't have any way to convey how he felt about you....Maybe cause you didn't speak Chinese? idk From my observations, grandparents love their grandkids...

I don't know much about your family. But calling everyone your grandpa's slave doesn't feel right. Everyone pampered him means he was loved by all (on the other hand, people just abandon their old parents. They don't even care to check of what they are doing or how they are doing)
