Nah, that’s usually late story. Though, it is more passively restoring them. Which at times, there are enemies that can cutoff the restorative ability. However, this is also to their detriment.

You got a point. The way FFVII did that, is that the soldiers were genetically enhanced. However, I believe it deteriorates their body.
They gain superhuman abilities, but the enhancement would eventually kill them if they kept at it from what I remember.

The Japanese are working on something really beneficial. They are working on a way to regrow missing teeth, and so far? Looks like they are getting success in it. Right now, it is being animal tested from what I can tell.

Anyway, for Book 2. This would be the start of the series. One of the things that will become most obviously noted, is how the main is far different from the events of Book 1, with one connecting point still remaining.
