    When readers misinterpret your intent.

Thanks, Frowfy, I really appreciate your perspective. You’re absolutely right, sometimes reviews come from misunderstanding or even from readers who aren’t on the same wavelength. And like you said, other readers often pick up on the intent naturally over time. Sometimes it’s worth making the...

    When readers misinterpret your intent.

In my story, The Higher Power, I recently received a review (On another site) that gave me both positive and constructive feedback. The reviewer was kind and thoughtful throughout, and I appreciated their perspective. However, when they reached my fourth chapter, Meeting Destiny, things went off...

Before time had rhythm, before light had shape, a single Presence stirred in the void alone, aware and longing. From longing came thought. From thought, light. From light, warmth. And from warmth, the seed of all that would ever be. The Presence shaped companions from silence and stardust...

Which Type of Feedback do You Want From the Readers?

I may be an anomaly, but I want true feedback, not money... I need critiques and reviews. Even if someone says my story sucks and I should give up writing, I won't stop, but I would appreciate the feedback.

Writing What is the webnovel format, compared to a standard novel format?

I'm seriously considering converting my standard novel to a web-based format, but I want to get it right. Does anyone have any insight into how to go about doing this? I am so foreign to this concept, it seems odd to me. But I'm a traditional format kind of guy. I could ask ChatGPT to do it, but...

Writing What is the webnovel format, compared to a standard novel format?

I certainly need to rethink my formatting. The traditional publishing path seems to be out of reach, especially for an unknown author.

Writing What is the webnovel format, compared to a standard novel format?

I see your point. I've had the same thoughts about self-publishing vs. Web-publishing. I just didn't realize there was such a drastic difference in formatting.

Writing What is the webnovel format, compared to a standard novel format?

I asked this question of ChatGPT. This is what I received in response. I had no idea! Maybe this is why no one likes my stories... What do you think about this? ? Standard Novel Format Structure: Divided into chapters, typically longer (2,000–5,000+ words). Written to be read in longer...

When people prefer to confide in AI, is this a sign of a social empathy crisis?

My thought is that A.I. has no emotions. They take in your query, bounce it off the internet, come back with some responses they think will fulfill your need, and wait for the next prompt. To me, that is the problem. They have no emotions or life skills to interpret your nuanced prompt/question...

When did you decide to quit your story, or why do you keep going?

In my original go at my story, my MC didn't show up until chapter 7! No wonder no one understood my story. Now, she is introduced in the second paragraph of the first chapter, and she is able to reference some of the world-building I discarded because of the rewrite.

Writing [Tutorial] So you want a Critique? [Warning: RANT]

I have a question, Does the story have to have complex language to be readable?

Readability is a good thing. You want it to be smart enough to tell the story, but not too smart so you don't alienate anyone. There are several readability scales. Spache (Revised) Flesch-Kincaid Linsear Write

Writing How do I write a pre planned novel?

I write in AutoCrit almost exclusively on the fly. The good part about it is that it does a fiction analysis and gives you insight into what you've written. Here is one category analysis of my first chapter, A Story to Tell. I hope this is okay to post. If not, please let me know. A Story to...

When did you decide to quit your story, or why do you keep going?

I love my story, I believe it to be inspirational, and I think it needs to be read! That's why I will never give up... I may quit a couple of sites that seem to be a waste of time, but I won't stop. I can't.
