I doubt anyone plays MH for the story, so it has to entirely carry on the gameplay. And the gameplay? Sure, faster, but the difficulty progression is just gone.

Before, the games used to offer proper difficulty. I used to actually struggle with the early ones, but still managed to beat them, The more modern ones I am distracted half the time and still win.

The main problem is the challenge. MH pretty much lacks this now. I mean, if I can pick up the controller after not playing for a while. And run circles around supposedly high ranking monsters after a couple of minutes of getting back into it.

Yeah, I think you’re right. As for Wilds? It is an okay game, but I don’t think it does anything near enough to be GOTY. Plus, I think it is still really broken on PC on top of that. From what I saw from the console? When it actually works? Just kinda average ya know.

Then what is this whole thing about? Since it looks like it is doing fine on the mods then. Unless they are not improving gameplay itself. Which I doubt so with that many. :blob_hmm:

So, I’m finding it strange that SB. Being so popular doesn’t have a strong modding community.

New costumes for everyone, inventory, gameplay features added. It goes on and on, they went insane with it. :blob_hmm:

Chrono Ark for instance. They made a ton of additions to the gameplay. One was a fountain area adjustment, that makes it far easier to get the main character’s strongest ability. Decisive Strike, a one time use per run that kills any enemy, boss included when they are at 70% HP. They adjusted...

I played games that are genuinely fun, and seen the modding community go absolutely nuts creating mods for every single piece of the game. Improving it in the smallest ways without incentive from the devs. And that’s from smaller games. The devs just let’s them do what they want.

Still, it is a bit strange. Usually games don’t need much incentive for mods. Something might be up here. 1. They got the greenlight. 2. Modders are not modding. It might just be a play once and move on, but even then it is a bit weird.

@Ellieporter Yeah, I get that. Though, can’t really make a modder do what ya want. Maybe they can put out some incentive to do so? Though, I think they kinda set themselves up for that one.

Though, I think it is really a rare case when a game is bad enough to repel even modders.

I feel like they are stepping on a mine. You should never rely on modders to improve gameplay. The game itself should be great, which in turn would encourage modders to make improvements with permission.

Steam seriously need a much improved recommendation system. I almost never find games through its search/recommendations. Almost all were found through steampeek. One of the main issues is tagging, which I have encountered many that are wrong or weren’t tagged in accordance.
