Anyone got any stories that aren't isekai or fan related

    > I keep seeing these types of stories and they are honestly REALLY REALLY redundant and dull. You probably know you can use the filter (gears icon) to exclude them from: https://www.scribblehub.com/series-ranking/?sort=5&order=1

If Lolita wants to date tall mascular build guy is it a crime

    > If Lolita wants to date tall mascular build guy is it a crime Note: "Lolita" the book and subsequent works are about child sexual abuse, not height. If you're 17-18, I'd avoid dating people over 24 or so. (Or younger than 15.) Rather, if a 30 year old man is pursuing an 18 year old woman...

    ??! Prologues are Criminal !??

I often skip the prologue with webnovels - a decent author should be able to hit the ground running en media res, drip feeding background, character details, and setting as needed. And with the less-skilled authors, it's that much faster to find out if they tell a compelling story.

Stamina/ strength / agility and attack

    > Stamina/ strength / agility Consider a marathoner / weightlifter / foil fencer. Each excels in their field of focus, but doesn't necessarily have training in the others. Here in the real world or in a setting that's a rough meritocracy, people train for endurance, strength, and also the...

    Fictional Physics

    > Infraphysics - Null science (The science of nothing) As soon as nothingness couples with matter, energy, or physical space, normal physics should apply. As an exercise, disprove this.

    Fictional Physics

    > feels too complicated It's backdrop which may become active story elements. While the author may keep track of it, the reader may not see the details, like the Force in episodes 4-6. This may a blessing. https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/we-need-to-talk-about-fifty-five > "internal consistency" ❤️‍?

I need your help with something

I agree - it's easier to write a compelling duel or series of fights in a western than a world-spanning war story. For story requirements the elf just needs to avenge a single family member. It's even better (for the author) if she's wading into a messy, complicated situation, and doesn't have...

Can a character who has the lightning element win against a mirror creature?

    > It gave birth to mirror creatures. Are they glass backed with a thin coating of silver? > They are strong against light techniques. So's a bathroom mirror. Lightning isn't light. Lightning is good at cooking stuff with a hint water in it, melting sand or so on. If you can get it to hit a...

Anybody interested in a hard sci-fi story, set in space, with realistic science, and a mix of personal drama and cosmic geopolitics?

    > It's set in space, about a century in the future, semi-realistic tech and real physics. Atomic Rockets is a pretty good template for a lot of the aesthetics and mentality involved. Thinking about Iain Banks, Charlie Stross, Alistair Reynolds, Ken MacLeod, and Bujold, I think it's good and...

    > Arousing anyone's interest? The kind of thing any of you would be interested in reading? Go for it! I think readership will depend more on plot and characterization than on setting.

Help, how to balance a slime character?

    > Now, in a battle, how would you try to beat her? ... The setting of my story is modern military, trying to be as realistic as possible. Almost any chemical or cleaning agent from a bigbox store. Honestly, just a box of Tide pods might do it. Or a can of powdered draino. Buckets of bleach or...
