This song was one of my favourites during my twenties. I have long accepted that my children think the 90's/early 2000's were 'cool'. But imagine my joy when the other day my 13 year old KPop loving (but not BTS, for whom she has a deep hatred) daughter revealed she has Sandstorm on her playlist...

You were sent to another world with a supernatural power?

Save the world, then be bitter than no one appreciated it. :blob_thor: After a bit, I'd start a winery. ? ...And a harem. Hang on, like a harem of hot men. (Is that a reverse harem?) Idk. Must research...

I've read many a book which has resonated with something I was experiencing or trying to make sense of. I used to be published in PNR and there was often discussion among authors about being aware of a moral compass in writing - putting forth healthy relationship goals while acknowledging that...

What's your reason for not reviewing a novel?

I must admit I actually enjoy (helpful) criticism, I feel it's far more constructive to my growth as a writer (or maybe I'm just a masochist). That said, like everyone else, I sincerely want people to like my offerings. I used to mentor new writers as part of a CP scheme with a writing...

If we don't have the suffering, how can we know when we get to the good bits? I like a bit 'o suffrage. But I'm also an optimist, so it's gotta be a happy ending. Otherwise I get depressed and consume too much chocolate and wine.

    Do you have a pet?

We have three cats: one Ragdoll x, one Abyssinian x and one fella we fished out of a drain and two Alaskan Malamutes. Fluff everywhere.

What makes your fiction worth reading at least once in a lifetime?

Three words: BL Cultivation Smut. (Actually that's technically four, but maths isn't my forte, which is why I write).:blob_okay:

Writing What are your favorite steps in creating fiction?

I have edited more than my share of translated (bl cultivation) novels and translated a couple too. It indeed takes work and I don't think the beauty and subtle nuances of a language ever fully make it across into another tongue. Which is a case for learning more languages I guess. :blob_cookie:

Writing What are your favorite steps in creating fiction?

    1. Story Idea Design: This includes character design, world-building, conflict and plot, and moral values. I have this terrible fear of my characters not fitting into my story, so as soon as the plot idea pops into my head I'm creating my characters, then doing the rest. I once wrote a 100k...

Writing gonna start a new short story soon need help

This is really good advice ?. Start with the basics of a story: beginning | middle | end. And then ask questions: What is the plot about? Where does it start? (physically and for the characters - internally). Who are the characters, what are their motivations (gmc) and what journey are they...

    Scammers

I'm new too and have had the same experience. It's a bit demoralising to realise comments are not new fans, but just scams. I keep getting offers to draw my characters, despite the fact my profile states I'm a graphic artist irl.:unsure::s_smile:

What motivated you to stop being a reader and write your own fiction?

Lol! I did agriculture on my mother's insistence because I had horses. (Personally I don't think my mother (very much heels and pearls) understood the differences between cows and horses). It was indeed boring. I don't recall cow variations, but did learn to tell how fertile a bull is... I also...

What motivated you to stop being a reader and write your own fiction?

In the dark days of 2020 when I'd got my rights back on my (traditionally published PNR) books and was homeschooling (there is a reason I didn't become a teacher), I binge-watched GMDC and consequently started reading translated BL cultivation novels. Then I helped with editing them (hence my...
