    AI changes and writing

I'm gonna need a source for this because deepseek is Chinese and openAI is American. Last I checked neither cares about the other's copyrights. Most recent things I can find in the US is that the federal government wants to block any bans or restrictions. I'd gladly be wrong.

Does the usage of AI for cover bad? why do many say it is?

The fact that companies are using AI generated advertisements should tell you everything you need to know about where industry thinks the legality of using AI generated images and video is headed. Just like with hand drawn art, there is poor quality AI art as well. Essentially, as long as the...

    Technical Jargon

If you're looking for webnovels, mine fits the bill, though it might be a tad dry. Lots of technical (and in many cases accurate, save for certain magic parts) engineering. The earlier couple of volumes are stone-age tech for the most part, but we're talking aircraft and ships in the current...

Anyone else search up keywords relating to their story to see if someone out there is talking about their novel?

I check every few weeks, mostly just to ensure that no one is posting it without permission. Mostly just turns up reddit and where I actually publish, though I've filed a few DMCA requests over the last few years.

Do you guys feel intimated by the sheer amount of work you must put in your novel?

I'm above 500k words now, and it's taken 2.5 years at 2/3 1500 word chapters a week. I don't think about it in terms of reaching that length. The novel really makes a difference, 500k words in the novel I'm currently writing is like 1.5m words in a 'standard' novel, because I'm writing with...

Need help in identifying right tags for novel and remove the unnecessary ones.

Either you need to stop communicating with GPT so much, or stop using AI to write. There are a huge number of "It's not just x -- it's y." Telltale AI writing signs. AI checker said only 3 sentences in the first chapter were not, at least partially, written by AI. To other writers, this is...

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

Every descriptive sentence is it's own line. There is no delineation between one sentence to another. So sure, sometimes they describe things, but there is no paragraph organization. It's almost like writing poetry, but it isn't because it's longer than even ancient epics... Example off the...

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

I see, psychosomatic strain that is probably self-induced by habit forming behaviors.

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

I'm a bit confused. If the word count is the same, then a long paragraph should cause less eye strain, not more, as your eyes should need to go back and forth less often. Each new line, your eyes have to move across the whole screen. Am I missing something?

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

Muh learned ADHD. I swear, some aspects of zoomer behavior is just as bad as boomers.

Can another author explain to me why so many stories don't use paragraphs?

Lately, I've been seeing a huge influx in stories where every single sentence is a new line. No paragraphs, and usually no dialog tags. Is it just that even native speakers are getting worse at English? Like, as someone in the education system, I know that basically every student (save those...

Based on age and mental development, what kind of female protagonist do you prefer?

Who exactly is this demographic. What is going on.

    Your Opinion?

I can only give my recalled synopsis of it, which is flavored by my initial perception, but I'll give my perceptions along with it, so you can see why I was initially set off. First, the old title of the thread was, "What's your opinion of my new potential rising stars novel?" This isn't royal...

    Your Opinion?

If true, good on you, though there isn't anything more than your word to go on here. In the author note at the bottom of chapter 10, you say: "A/N: This is my first time writing an explicit scene of this nature, so I'm aware it may not yet be fully immersive. I had to read extensively to...

What are some of the most absurd plots you've ever encountered in fiction?

Honestly speaking, the HPMoR plot was kinda wild. Like, there are books that have really absurd and *bad* plots, but the Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality plot is kinda absurd for being a good read.

    Your Opinion?

Others and myself have made plenty of guides and helpful tips threads. There is an entire story feedback forum (which this isn't in). I've lost much hope for many aspiring authors, and I think it's probably better that they get in the right mindset so they aren't disappointed even further down...

    Your Opinion?

My opinion? Any and every author who is desperate for views and readers, but hasn't done any research or realized that it takes a long time to establish yourself unless already well known, probably lacks the skills to be a successful author. If story hasn't been regularly publishing scheduled...

Is It Normal to Have Literally Zero Views on Day 1?

Stories get manually approved. May not be visible yet. Don't expect much though, <100 views in the first week often happens.
