I'm about to hit 70 chapters and have had this issue as well. I've sort of just pushed forward and if I ever have an issue my mind set is to either fix it later on with an explanation or take a break and look back at the series as a whole and go to each chapter making patches.

Most of my chapters are 5k to 6k, though I sometimes cheat and just make them 4.5k, and sometimes I go over board and make them 7 or 8k. My biggest chapter so far being 9.5k. I write 3 chapters a week sometimes 4 or 5 depending on how I feel or if I don't have OT from work.

I wouldn't save anyone personally, but I'd love to go into specifically game of thrones season 8, and add more Starbucks coffee cups to the scenes for better immersion.
