Just saying, i use "jp" and "jps" as abbrievation for japan(country)/japaneses. And heard/know "jap" can be a slur (in the past).
And as im cautious and drama-magnet and shitty luck, i always do use this abbreviations and dodging using word "jap" (just in case someone is offended).
So if you hate me for it, im innocent.
