Oh yeah, Chinese game translations are terrible.

However, whenever I use a google translate overlay thing via my phone to play some game demos or something, GTL doesn't do the best. So, maybe something about the way they use text in games just doesn't jive with GTL.

Hello, real Chinese person here, actually fluent in both languages. We also have good translation apps. The equivalent of Google is Baidu. It has its own translation app just like GTL, among several others. The two languages are extremely different, so GTL does a good enough job at specific words or short sentences, but not long passages. Hence why I say MTL is not good.

I'm nervous to have Pangmida read my story because I'll get bonked for my bad Chinese stuff. Lol

@Fairemont You’re doing great sweetie! I’m really impressed by a lot of the naming. Usually a huge block in writing for a different culture/language is making strange sounding names, which isn’t something you can overcome just based on research. Keep it up. :)

I spend a lot of time on names! I am glad it's not bad.

GTL cannot do it since corona years ? like I said, vocabulary and short sentences work. Long passages are iffy. I always have Google Translate open for writing since I partially use it as a thesaurus as well.

You could just pull a araki or toriyama and name it off of food, vegetables and alcohol.
