Funny how a last minute of trying to turn a minor villain necromancer sympathic actually works.

Context: MC was curbstomping his assailant, a necromancer. Dude was throwing everything and the kitchen sink at MC to no avail and in the end, throwing the last undead in his pouch.

Turns out that was his own mother, who volunteered to be his first undead and will safeguard him forever.

Kind of retarded for me, but when I got introed another KR "MC turned villainous" story, all I can think of is

"Yup, totally expected."

I mean, the whole "your lifework getting stolen by bastards above and wife getting raped and then committed suicide" is par for the course and can be set in medieval, low or high fantasy, and modern day drama.
