A more mainstream pick, but it's Kendrick. One of the greatest songwriters of our generation.

This track is my favorite of the Mr. Morale period, even though it's not on the album. Just incredible lyricism from start to finish, encapsulating the album's wider themes of the cycles of trauma and abuse, specifically in black communities.
I saw this cursed shit now you must too.

    Not to be political,

But the reason why slavery is so popular in isekai and isekai-adjacent media is because the only way their audiences can imagine actually getting attention from the opposite sex is by legally owning them.

I can’t speak towards the generic isekai audience, but a lot of East Asian media carries fetishes that are way more controversial in western spaces.

Yeah. A lot of the fetishes that Japan showcases have become my blacklisted. Something that pisses me off is the instant "I love him now for no apparent reason" trope. I don't mind a harem, but make it realistic. I may make a thread about this. And more

I don't mind a harem, but I just want do be dominated. Someone fuck me hard so life is not the only one fucking me.

This one definitely isn't for everyone, more so than my other recs.

But this track and video is the human experience condensed into a rushed smoke break. In post-rock fashion, it builds on an established motif that explodes into an intense, dissonant, and almost overwhelming whirr of guitars and programmed drums that HAS to make you feel something.

How do I clean my IG reels algorithm? It's full of Italian brainrot that I don't even enjoy.

On a side note... *pulls paper out of my woke hat* calling Tung Tung Tung Sahur Italian brainrot when it's very obviously Indonesian is cultural appropriation.
All this fanfic discourse is reminding me of the disconnect between online literary spaces and art spaces. You can perfectly make a career out of doing fanart on Patreon (looking at you, Khyle) or commissions, but I wonder why that's generally more of a sensitive issue when it comes to fics.

Which is why my final stance is do whatever you want. Get your money while you can, homie.

A gorgeous track from possibly my favorite album of all time. Incredible musicianship, tasteful blend of genres and sounds, and potent songwriting. The use of the Concorde jet as a metaphor for a sunk-cost relationship is genius, and the climax feels like watching a jet take off without you.

Listen if you like symphonic/progressive rock.
After all these hours in Elden Ring, I've realized that the correct way to play is, in fact, with summons and magic. They make for the most dynamic encounters.

I just mean that I have the most fun that way. Sure, roll-slop has its merits if you really want to feel the difficulty of the fights, but sometimes hanging back and spamming lame spells while your spirit ashes and NPC companion beat the boss' ass is exactly what the soul needs.

I like those minibosses cause sometimes you summon a whole squad and just let them do all the work.

Just me, my little greatshield bros, and a really shitty spell that looks cool so the magma wyrm doesn't die too quickly

Radwimps back when they were good. I mean, goddamn, I remember hearing this song when I was a kid, and it changed my whole life's trajectory. Now they're doing that shimmering bloomer pop bullshit. Makoto Shinkai really ruined a great thing.

    Listen if you hate Radwimps.

I can't say I agree, this song is fine but disliking their newer stuff does not equate to them being ruined. Especially considering how much more popular they are now.

Nu-uh, I want my little Japanese alternative rock band to keep making music tailored specifically to my tastes and not what grants them the most recognition and success /s

Lowkey the greatest rock song of the 70s, by the era's most cerebral band. This colossal track lulls you in with a gorgeous main riff and vocals, only hinting at the tension to come. Then before you know it, you're entranced in an unnerving 13/8 musical meditation that takes its sweet time before bursting forth in an incredible crescendo.

Sit back and relax, cup of tea in hand. Toe is a band that most people can fuck with. I chose this track in particular for its almost hypnotic riff. In usual post-rock fashion, the riff gets repeated ad nauseum while slowly building on layers of instrumentation until it reaches a fever pitch that'll have you feeling that being alive is okay sometimes.

Let's continue scaring the hoes. Scaring The Hoes (the album) is, in someone's wise words, Watch The Throne for autistic people. And the title track? Abrasive, but with an undeniable groove. You might scare the hoes with this one, but some hoes are... worth... scaring for? idk.

Listen if you like experimental hip hop or are repulsive to women.
I realize that arguing with people over sports on social media is way more fulfilling than arguing over real issues.

You can just say the craziest shit and someone will wish death upon you, but it's all fun and impersonal.

I got called a slur for saying Shaq looked more like Jermaine O'Neal in the 06 playoffs in response to someone trying to diminish Dwyane Wade's accomplishments.

The Football War, also known as the Soccer War or the 100 Hour War, was a brief military conflict fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. Existing tensions between the two countries coincided with rioting during a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The war began on 14 July 1969 when the Salvadoran military launched an attack against Honduras. The Organization of American States (OAS) negotiated a cease-fire on the night of 18 July, hence its nickname. Salvadoran troops were withdrawn in early August.
