Trying to get back into Higurashi: When they Cry VN. Dropped it in CH2 when it became a melodrama. This time I am watching a different playthrough starting from ch1, and it is going a lot faster. The other playthrough was 2 or so hours longer than this one if memory serves me.

Is it just me or are most English dubs just flat. Like whom ever did the mixing kept the speech at the same level so a whisper is the same volume as a scream or normal talking.

This might have changed recently I haven’t seen any new anime since about 2018.
