Why do people treat RR and Scribblehub like a house to pledge allegiance to? Just post your story on both and any other site that will have you. You'll certainly gain more of an audience by branching out and you don't have to write any extra content.

Fun Contro Fact #1: The Minor Villain Will Stay Relevant! was entirely written because the only minor villain stories I could find on this site were disappointing.

Interesting. I never considered the external world-building of what I write as they are often character-focused.
Upon further reflection, the current story I'm focusing on is actually kind of funny. It's a very grimdark story but the actual survivability of the world is like a fairy tale.
Was gonna write a story about a MC with a dragon taming profession that's useless, a fun little comedy. I decided having the MC somehow end up several centuries into the future where dragons are scarce would be a good explanation for why a legendary profession that allows you to tame dragons would be pointless.
Evil MCs are attractive because they are interesting. Think of how streamlined the hero's journey can get. Most of the time the hero reacts to evil, vanquishes it and continues onto their next challenge. If the MC is evil however they are more likely to get up to mischief which not only allows us to view more of their unique personality but also the world around them.
