DS 1 is a game of memory and calmness. If you do not suffer from anger issues or dementia it is easy. I had one friend give DS1 a try. Instead of thinking at least a little bit he stubbornly ran into Taurus demon again and again for a couple of hours. After that he uninstalled the game. Yeah, that way it will be hard and unenjoyable.
Meanwhile my other friend. The next day after I pestered him into playing DS1, he came to me and started spoiling, cause he progressed farther than I did. Even though I had one more day to play it. His eyes, just like mine, were burning.

I still like DS1, but it is way more frustrating to play than DS3. On my current playthrough. I got to the top of Sens fortress. Died because of a pressure plate, I forgot about right before the boss fight, and now spawn all the way back down. Bruh. That would tilt anyone.
DS1, the first prologue boss seemed hard until you realized how slow it moves. That wind up... that long wind up. The other bosses were similar. It just took too long waiting for them to be open to a few attacks.
Then... my character did so little damage. It's kind of like Monster Hunter, a lot of people enjoy it and it's 'difficult' because of how punishing it can be... fighting an enemy for 10 minutes?
@RepresentingEnvy Well, that's the point. You and pebble say it's bullshit. I say it is fair difficulty. Once you remember it, it stops being difficult.
