In the beginning times, when scribble was small and unknown, less skilled authors had much better chances. Stories made the cut there that wouldn't be as successful today in the cut throat environment with so much more competition by rivalling authors.
We are less and less SmutHub and more and more FanficHub in recent times.
Linking your stories in your own stories is a way to promote growth.

The interesting thing is that people clearly read it, but don't follow it. Maybe the people on RR are too elitist to have some non kingdom building LitRPG in their reading list. I have no other explanation.
