Being on trending is no joke. Amelia Thornheart is #18, not even on the front-page and has gained 20ish readers already. There must be a lot of visitors who click through the trending pages to find stuff to read.
Amelia Thornheart just got its 20th 5* rating, and almost 200 favourites, in only 10 chapters! The novel has done far better than I ever hoped and I'm tremendously grateful for the kind readers Although, this is ScribbleHub and I'm kinda cheating writing a GL novel ?
Will be travelling around over the next month and looking to buy a cheap chromebook for writing. Anyone here have any suggestions or done something similar?
On all writing sites I've always wanted a way for authors to edit two chapter revisions side by side so I did that:
Of course those with a bit of computer sense or multiple monitors can easily move windows to get a similar effect but you'll be surprised at how many people can't do that ?
New drag'n'drop system to allow authors to easily reorder chapters:
Note the chapter number is automatically updated!
Will need to go back and update other parts of the site to use this drag-n-drop for reordering in the future ?
Just committed the code for the initial logic for the novel creation shown below, it touched 132 files, added over 4600+ lines of code and removed ~350!
Probably the single biggest commit I've done so far and there's still so much more to do ?
Taken ~ 2 weeks but tomorrow should be able to show a video of the typical novel creation process for a user, and how that ties into that users guild/community forum!
Can't wait to show you all!
Programmed the admin module for creating Novel Tags!
I think I want novels to have 1 main category, 5 or so sub categories and then 20-30 max tags.
Categories will likely be hard coded while tags need to be more dynamic, hence the admin module!
Gif below - usual ShareX video artifacts included :)
After spending 18+ months programming the base functionality and systems... finally ready to start building out the most important functionality, the ability to create novels! But first..
reworked the form to have some nicer dropdowns when creating a new board for an authors community/guild:
