  • Day 5 after adding the GL subplot tag. No observable difference between daily view count or statistics. Reader count shows slight increase but nothing that deviates from weekly stats. Likely there are more factors into high views instead of simply adding the GL tag.

Analysis of the tag and it's correlation to views and reader count will continue for future studies ?️:blob_hmm_two:
    Happy Sunday everyone!
Views are low but the tension is rising in my novel. Me thinks it's a good time to have some "filler" content to flesh out some characters before we shift from slice of life back to serious plot again ^^
Not feeling well today :/ was thinking of asking about my story but I get the feeling some users are annoyed or disinterested with how frequent I use to ask stuff like how's my story or how do I get more comments ha.

    Well, Happy Friday I guess.

    Well it breaks immersion

Go see a internet chinese webnovel
You see the author each chapter note saying : "Please give a (forgot-what-its-called) !!!! It will help me a lot !!!!" x55
    OR
a youtuber : everytime will end with "Dont forget to like/subscribe the video"

    Monologue :
In fact. Most problems are easy to understand/solve. By simply thinking from the pov of the other. Thing which is now VERY rare, with how in 2024 its more about TRIBALISM "meVSthem" toxicity on internet.

Or like the very old idiom : "Take a step back"

Today I am adding the Girl's Love Subplot tag to my story. Let's put this GL popularity to the test and see if this boosts my views (and hopefully reader count) by a wide margin or if it hardly affects it. Act 2 introduces a subplot romance that's between two women so... let's see how my views and reader count changes.

The more you focus on "views/readers" the more you lose sight of the story

That is why nowadays "creators" can't do masterpieces like before (Mushoku/ONEPUNCH/Arifureta/Slime Tensei)
because they focus too much on "money/popularity"
meanwhile old creators NEVER focused on it and wrote a "story" (Onepunchman original author ONE, never thought he could get money from it and had salaryman job)

But its also true, that unlike now, they didnt have much competition
AND didn't suffer mental unbalance, from seeing others get rich, by using unfair "money winning methods" -> jpFANTIA/Onlyfans (that get ton of money for smut MEGA EASILY)

My words are easily to misunderstand (just tried to give history lesson) and i'm sure you aren't like that,
but i hope you continue writing and try to not give it too much focus. =)

Or you risk to do this trope (sooner or later) :
stressing over something -> not following expectation -> stress -> more easy to fail -> fail -> stress -> ∞
77 chapters, 41k views, 420 (?) Readers, and 6 short from 500 favorites... and still no reviews?

On one hand I'm relieved not to have a low review, but on the other hand... well, ah never mind, it's just an observation at this point.

Not like one review would make people more invested into the story really  just need to build that audience and investment up somehow.
I tried to add labels to my story chapters that contain smut so that readers can skip them if they like.

That backfired when I realized how many smut scenes are included in the beginning chapters.

I did learn that I shot myself in the foot for being so smut heavy in the beginning part.

Now I'm left wondering if I should rewrite the beginning chapters so that they're not so smut heavy anymore

@TsumiHokiro that's exactly how the first draft of the story went. The first act had a lot of sex, the second act had fewer sec scenes but more scenes of intimacy (teasing, flirting, going on dates) and the final act ended with a return to some love-making scenes before the conclusion chapter.

Do you think sailing ahead with that format might be the best course of action for the novel?

From my experience, it's a plan that can work. Where at first you introduce development between characters (smut), the second part is the real plot development, whereas the third part would be resolution between the characters. It's something often seen in more mature works. It satisfactorily resolves both plot and smut needs of readers while targetting a more mature readership.

I hope to see the day when someone references my story without my own input involved. That's when you realize people either really like your work, or really dislike it. It's the difference between recommending a story you've read, or warning someone to avoid this author because of this and that.

Either way, your work will be living rent free :blob_evil:
I'd like to believe that somewhere in the void of SH, there's someone who looks forward to when I upload new chapters to KuliKuli :blob_aww:

It helps me move forward with new chapters instead of the alternate possibility that people just come and go whenever I publish a new chapter. :blob_gift:
    I'm so stupid :blob_pout::blob_pat_sad::blob_no:

I was so sure I published tonight's chapter at 8, but nope! My airhead self must've hit the save draft button and then closed my laptop, ugh!

    Stupid, stupid, stupid! :blob_catflip::sweat_smile::blob_sweat:
I finally updated my cover! Had to crop out the butt though, seems my Nekomata is too much of a tease for advertisers :blob_teehee:
I actually replaced the cover with a new one at first, but the original fit her image better for me. So if it ain't broke! :blob_uwu:
Where can I share my ideas for my future story sequence? I don't have anyone to share my ideas with IRL :blob_melt: it's hard being a writer when you're the only one.

@RiaCorva discord with who? I can hardly get my readers to comment

I was suggesting some writer communities. Might be better than relying on readers who, in my experience, are notoriously not keen to interact online.

How do people do it? Even when I've the day off, I can't manage to write more than one chapter at a time. Some people pump out like 2/3 chapters a day, how!? :blob_shock:

I've been writing for 5 years, I can write one chapter every day but I can't write twice a day! :ROFLMAO:
... I so forgot to label the last chapter for Act 1 as the final chapter for Act 1 :blob_facepalm::blob_shock::sweating_profusely:

Act 2 started and the readers are non the wiser
    Happy Friday everyone!

Still figuring out what to do to improve my story :blob_hmm: changing the cover art might help, just need to figure out what I would want to change it into first.

Act 1 is nearly complete, I do see around 100 views in the chapters being consistent. I'm curious to know how they feel about the story so far. Plus no reviews still, ack! :blob_melt:
