to be fair, all chinese novel get throught inspection by the government and they have to include some brainwash words in their novel for the govnerment. That why I mostly read cultivation novel who are not set on earth.
@PeacefulMyst You talking to me? If yes, I kinda agree. But I'm not sure how much is on the authors, and how much is on the translation, since translations from Chinese usually suck a lot.
@dummycake I don't know a thing about Chinese language, so it's hard for me to judge. What I can say is that it's a lot easier to make character distinct in Japanese, since they have lots of different pronouns, different quirks in their languages and so on. Does Chinese has something similar? I don't know.
I hate chinese novel because:
1. I am brainwashed to hate everything chinese from a very young age.
2. All chinese novels in the bookstore are BL or full of misogyny.
3. The dialogues are full of words I hate, like filial piety. I am a person actively trying to make my ancestors die a second time, so their premist is just bullshit to me.
It was clear that the other party hated the Chinese.
"It's like a tiger poking the rabbit's mountain, you will never know when the sheep will sleep," I said, sharing my wisdom.
Some are written we'll but are cultures are different so a lot of the aloof stuff kind of goes over my head. I guess what I'm trying to say is I can read them but I don't always get them
