Okay, looked it up in the dictionary and it says an affectionate term for a cat.
I'm not crazy.

It's an old term, nothing bad about it. There used to be a girl group called The Pussycat Dolls. It's socially acceptable, compared to something like 'The Dickcat Girls'. Which, you can see why that'd be slightly weird.
