Writing Writing a verbal fight scene.

I am hoping to write a scene where two prisoners fighting with words in a prisoner wagon.

the prisoners got captured due to both being bad allies and bad at their job and blame each other.

Got any tips?

Criminal 1: Harsh criticism
Criminal 2: Deflection then criticism
Back and forth until it escalates to insults.

Criminal 1: Personal insult.
Criminal 2: Personal insult
Criminal 1: Insult that really stings.
Criminal 2: Tries to beat the crap out of Criminal 1.
Cops tells them to shut up, or the van stops.


This is one-sided.

If your parents hate each other just do that

Firefly had at least one scene like this. I'm drawing a blank beyond that, but I know I've seen a scene like this played out dozens of times, usually for comedy. The Princess Bride may have some good moments to draw from. As can some old Laurel and Hardy movies (Another fine mess you've gotten us into. Me? You're the one who... Ah, I'm not listening.... etc.)
