My friend told me he had thought of a story where the reader had to use real $ to bid and save their fav character form death in a post-apocalypse world

Is there a concept you actually heard someone say??

No, but what reader cares enough about fictional characters to be willing to save them with real currency? Unless your fiction is already incredibly popular with millions of views and thousands of fans... this concept is difficult to implement.

My advice is to focus on building a good story before worrying about monetization. After all, writing fiction requires consistency and patience.

Given how rare it is to get useful feedback, and how often the "choose your own adventure" type stories fail (except on the dedicated site for those kinds of stories, and where most of them are ... Penthouse Forum level stores from what I hear), his idea is pretty dumb for a webnovel. I could see it working for a comic book (fans killed off Jason Todd back in the day in the Batman books, for $0.73 a call, after all) or other mass media but not a webnovel.

That sound exactly what that one twitter artist did with the blind girl. He kept drawing her having a shitty life because she was French and people would pay him to draw her having a nice life. Yes, she was hated because she was French not because she was disabled.

Dumbest one was my own as I never figured out how it would work: Reincarnated as a USB stick in a land locked country of the Mongolian Era, my super power? I can talk to fish.

It's the dumbest thing I've thought about. Feed it to AI and it gives the dumbest responses.
