    Reacting to Hate Comments

Question them. They hate being made to think or explain themselves. There's some master class manipulators out there, so the easiest way to catch them up in their bullshit is to force them to answer questions. They will either shut their mouthes, or catch themselves up -- win win.

If you can't go for quality, then go for quantity. Is this the case with novels too?

I guess. But it really depends on your moral compass. Also, do you really care about reader views if you aren't doing something with them? The best thing to do imo is build a following / list that you can use for future work. Views for vanity sake and "rankings" really don't mean much in the...

If you don't have confidence in your work, who will? The only thing you can continue to do is hone your craft and get better. You'll get there if you make consistent effort.

    The Last to Comment Wins

The cake is a lie. Pi is the truth. 0 1 are the only states of mind. A wise woman says, a man who stands on the pot is always high. Wood chuck would never chuck wood, because it's something they just don't do. And other answers to the mysteries of life will be yours if you send me 499.99...

    Writing Prompt Dungeon Cores

I actually came up with an idea long this vein just the other day. I'm going to write it up into a novel once I get through with some other projects so for now i shall keep it to myself. As for my prompt, I'd do something a bit horrific. "The adventurers want to kill us, why? What have we...

Authors: What was your reaction to your first 1 star rating?

Mine was "meh", to be honest. For me, I consider myself more of a story teller. Its more important to get the stories out than some other aspects. I get that's a turn off to some, but I can always go back later and rewrite (or have someone else do some revision and editing if I ever get serious...

Toxic Writers Kill Me (And are taking it upon themselves to torture me now)

Interesting! Ironically enough, I sort of experienced something more negative here the first day though it wasn't anything major. Personally, I try not to let things get to me. I think there are terrible people everywhere nowadays. I can see how it can be a damper on your creative flow. As...

Writing Main Element my characters specialize in

I always prefer original or at least useful elements that seem less powerful at a glance. Example, Blood. Requires the user's blood to do anything pertaining to the element. But later on..... Blood can turn into mercury, poisoning other people who are hit with your element. Since its mercury...

Toxic Writers Kill Me (And are taking it upon themselves to torture me now)

really? i haven't had that many bad experiences, but I'm unknown as well. Had one book reviewer who obviously didn't read the book (nor did i ask for the review). He still gave it 4.4 of 5 so it was whatever. But personally, I don't pay attention to other people unless the crit helps me...

Writing I need help with action scenes

That's something you'll gain with experience. The good thing is, the more you do the more you will develop a feel for these things.

Writing I need help with action scenes

For guns, try to describe carnage, such as wood splinters flying, the pause and inevitable reaction after realizing one has been shot, the thoughts one might have while in the middle of a gun battle, the rush to reload and the tension of having to outsmart your enemy. If your character has...

How can you develop a story pace properly?

Honestly, I just sort of wing it. I have a general idea of what I want to happen, but I tend to use major and minor events to keep the reader invested. There's many ways you can do this it just requires creative writing a great deal of the time. I find that some people expound on inner...
