    Anyone else an impatient <expletive>

I know. On one hand, I'm glad there is a lot of media out there for everyone's tastes and profiles. On the other hand, my characters are parts of the story I want to tell, and while I don't need the entire world to know that story... like a small little group that cares would be nice.

How much would your characters hate you?

I write a very cozy aesthetic these days, so my characters probably don't hate me much, but they probably wish I'd stop slowing them down. In prior lives, I killed off some key family members so the protagonist was probably very cross with me over that.

    Insomnia Poetry

Feel free to add your own… I have a cat that wakes the house It isn’t for play, food, or a mouse We don’t know why he wakes at three To yell at the world with pitiful plea The rub of course is being a cat He can fall back asleep wherever he’s at The rest of us must try our best To return to...

    Anyone else an impatient <expletive>

Thinking of it as fairness to characters is a good way to go. While my Book 2 utilizes the same characters, by rushing Book 1 out the door I’d be seriously undervaluing the start of their relationship. Which was, I suppose, the whole foundation.

    Anyone else an impatient <expletive>

Fill in the blank with whatever expletive or self-deprecating term you want. Anyone else so excited about their stories and their characters that they find it agonizing not to drop it all immediately? Release cadences are important, readers like to savor things they enjoy, and time gives us all...

AI mode got me blushing 😍

Your writing was so profound, AI believes it spawned readers to the heights of your greatness :s_wink:

How do readers feel about AI art between the pages of a story?

I've found it useful when visualizing my characters while writing, but don't share it generally, worried about the response I'll get. I guess I'm really nervous about torches and pitchforks.

    Recommendations Finished professional fantasy books?

I'll put in a plug for Michael Crichton's lesser known works that border on Sci-fi psychological or medical fantasy, such as Sphere or The Terminal Man.

    Kitchen Warfare

I love how you don't know what the item is until the very last line, but you start imagining what it could be way before!
