Royal Road's crowd is a lot more thorny and persnickety but they're also more vocal and much more likely to support a patreon. Before I was posting on there my patreon was at $350 a month or so. As soon as I started crossposting my work to RR it shot up to $2500.

The average reading score for both fourth and eighth graders in 2024 was two points lower than in 2022 and five points lower than 2019. We're definitely trending downward. You could blame it on all sorts of things and tbh I think most of them are right. Lots of stuff contributing.
