So you ended up in an isekai universe (as usual), and everyone there has really strange tastes.
Specifically, everyone there loves the subject/genre that you hate most.
For example, if you hate BL the most, everyone in this world loves it!!!
Incidentally, most people in this isekai universe suck at writing and they have bad storytelling skills. Your technique at writing stories is better that almost everyone else. Everyone agrees that your technical writing skill is amazing.
Initially, you stared writing the stories that you like, but your preferred content is extremely unpopular and you barely ever get any views/comments. A publishing company noticed your online writing and scouted you. They offered you a $XXX/hour contract if you write stories in the genre that you hate most. The publisher believes that your writing can be the next greatest hit and a best-seller, provided that you simply write more popular content.
The contract is an impressive $XXX/hour guaranteed base salary (assuming that you publish at least one full-length print novel per year), as well as 30% royalty on any book sales. The contract also stipulates that you will work with an editor who will advise you on whether the content you write will sell (or need to be taken out because it would be too unpopular).
1. How much would you have to be paid to write in the genre that you hate?
2. How much would you hate writing a story in a genre you dislike? Is this even possible/achievable for you?
3. If a book publisher/editor told you that a certain aspect of your story wouldn't sell and needs to be taken out, would you change the content of your story for the publisher?
4. Do you write mainly for yourself, or do you write mainly for an audience?
