Notification alert when user you follow comes online

Would be nice to have the ability to see when a user you follow comes online, so you can chat or write with them. Ofcourse, with this implemented, users should also have the ability to hide their online status for privacy reasons.

Yeah, I'd stay hidden in that scenario. If I wanted to get interrupted with chats popping up all the time, I would use Discord. You might enjoy the Scribble Hub Discord channel, by the way.

I mean, couldn't you just write them a message anyway? They'll likely write back when they get on and have time and want to chat with you, wouldn't they? Also, I think if you write them and they are on, their online status is already displayed, isn't it? (We are talking about the main site, right?)

Yeah.... I don't even like showing my vague online status... I only do it so the SH community appear "alive". With this setting, I'd definitely go underground...

on the right of the forum home page. I think that is plenty.
I already get plenty of notifications I don't need more.

yes, i am aware Sartre's quote, hell is other people, is often misunderstood as meaning, other people is the worst.

But instead, its closer meaning is about how we can not escape from the judgment of others in a social world, and the our journey of understanding ourselves is influenced by others via reflections, and can not purely be done solo.

BUT. the very fact the this quote is so often misquoted or overly simplified, just proves this.
