I don't think moderation is that much of a problem. Same as someone could spam unsavory pictures, they could do similar damage with words (hail Hitler, or the N-word). I think the biggest problem would be loading the images. I'm fairly certain that the code could be optimized so that there is little latency even with multiple images loading on a page, but it would be a lot of work for Tony.

@Yorth yeah, it was said before (at least the forum search says so) that traffic is an issue. RR, for example, deals with it by loading comments by ajax request when the person scrolls into the comment section specifically, so they're not loaded when the page is opened.

While not that hard to implement, it does slow down the flow of user experience and ajax is a rather clunky and slow thing to use.

Let’s be honest. When you binge and have 100+ chapters to catch up to, then you won’t bother to read the comments. Even less spam memes.

While it’s nice to have some memes in the comments section, I don’t want to spend my mobile data on them when I’m outside.

You can put pictures into the comment but it's just a little hard to do.
