Books, television, manga, comics anything, doesn’t matter. Neither does the reason. Could be because of how bad it was, how scary, how disturbing, etc. I just want to “vent”, so you can too if you want.

Kami no Kodomo.

I am scarred, yet intrigued. It could’ve been worse, but I was not expecting it to come when it did, and am still a little surprised.
I hope anyone who hasn’t read it, will have their curiosity piqued, and go and drag themselves down here with me.

Also, ShitendingheshouldvekilledallofthosetraitorsgoddammitImstillangry.

When I was in uni, my first group of friends there had some film nights where we watched several films.
One such night, someone put on The Serbian Film.
I wish I hadn't seen it, since there are some scenes in it that have been seared into my memory that make me feel incredibly uncomfortable and awful.
Also, please do not watch it. If anyone ever wants you to do so, refuse immediately. It is an incredibly messed up film.
'-'

As for a more jokey one that a lot of people make fun of: Boku no Pico.

In terms of nightmares, The Mummy. I recall having nightmares from it for weeks after first watching it.

With regards to the literary aspect...I haven't been scarred so far.

I knew there was something wrong with that sentence! Thanks :blob_cookie:

I will place The Serbian Film on my list of things to never experience.

So far no fiction has managed to leave me scarred as I can clearly separate those things from each other. But some managed to stay in my mind for a long time because of their theme or implementation of harsh "real life problems".

One who managed to give me a new world of thoughts and ideas was
Chi no Wadachi
As someone who grew up with in a single-parent household with a loving mother, this manga brought up ideas and themes we all now exist in the real world but don't really "concern" us.

OG Yu-Gi-Oh (1999)
Every time Yugi won in a shadow game, it got freaky watching the bad guys go insane after having their minds crushed...
There's also the fact that I watched it when I wasn't even 10 yet so I was an easily impressionable kid

Almost every chinese novel I've read that have gone beyond past a thousand chapters. The mental scars are still there and deeply ingrained at this point, it's mind numbing when I think about it really. On the plus side, I rarely have any qualms about dumpster fire novels nowadays.

This one was so random. We did a watch party on discord and someone decided it was a good idea to play.

Divergence Eve.

I remember it took me almost a week before I was able to recover from the shock of witnessing one of its main characters being eaten alive.
Holy shit dude.

Also, I tried to find this scene on youtube and couldn't

Shit, I remember my teacher letting our classroom watch 120 Days Of Sodom in secrecy.

I wasn't very scared that much or rather I was disgusted at some scenes.

My classmates however took time to recover

I've watched some horror movies but I haven't gotten scared to the point of not sleeping peacefully. I hope these can scare me

I was really little, and I saw the scene in Spider Man 2 where Doctor Octopus wakes up and it scared the shit out of me.

I remember as a kid watching “Horror Express” and it scaring the shit out of me. Whenever I woke up to go to the bathroom at night, I couldn’t make it down the hall. It’s kind of funny now, though.
