Her morning shower not only rejuvenated her both mentally and physically, but the water was still hot even after forty minutes of soaking under the rush of the shower. Her shower ritual complete, and transactions for new towels, she dressed in her school uniform designed to fit her. She left the collar open a bit to show off her choker, and extra necklace hanging off her neck, and she rolled up the long sleeved to three quarters down, where her forearms were showing just below the elbow. She wore her traditional leather bands, and aesthectic rings.

Her hair, still damp from shaking the water off with the towel, hung limply over her shoulders and back. She figured it would naturally air dry as the day went on.

When she slipped on her socks and boots, she made her way down to breakfast for a quick bite, enjoying the rush of students as they gorged on their food.

She just got a light snack, as she wasn’t that hungry. It was probably the nerves that did it, and she really didn’t want to be the first year who threw chunks on their first day of school.

Then she was off, her backpack and tools in hand, she went straight to the School Building where all of their classes would be. She looked at her schedule with a keen eye, before nodding. She still had time to make it to her Enchantments class. This was actually something she was excited for, that and her Crafting & Synthesis classes tomorrow. She hoped the homework load would be doable with six classes total between the quarter. She couldn’t imagine adding another one until she knew what exactly she got herself into. And the extra hour in the morning could be used to help set up her future shop or commissions! She would just be sure to keep an ear and eye open for any possible changes.

She entered the class, eyes brimming with excitement as she peered at some of students already there. Ah, I don’t think I see anyone I know yet. Well, it’s still a bit early. There’s time for someone to come. Lisette found a spot in the middle of the class, sort of up close, but not immediately in the front row. In fact, the spot she took was the second row by the window.

Alba's first period was like he expected. The instructor introduced himself and explained what materials we have to go through and learn. The common thing he told us to improve is... 'Magic'. Not a foreign word to people even from another but an unknown concept to commoners who could normally live their life without it so they weren't taught about it. Then he told us to train our body so we're not a stickman that trying the hardest to just lift the sword, and that was the first period

The class finished early so Alba returned to the dorm and took a shower again. By the time he arrived for his second period, the room was filled with people and only a few spots are left. He could see similar faces he saw on the opening ceremony day but it didn't really matter since he didn't know them. He walked the empty seat near the window and saw the girl with Ash brown hair and round eye with the same colour as her hair. (@Tessa_Renalds ) 'A puppy?' Alba thought.

"Hello, Can I sit here?" He asked the girl

With the first class of the term coming to an end, I took the pile of papers with many questions to answer concerning which magic theories should be applied in which situations and how they would affect the scenarios as homework. With such a workload already on my plate, I knew this year was going to be much tougher than the previous two and began to wonder if I had bitten more than I could chew when considering my Student Council duties on top of academic work. Walking down the corridor to the next class, I felt my excitement begin to bubble as I remembered it was Advanced Practical Magic - basically being able to use magic in the lesson along with learning useful spells for everyday use, like the communication spells that varied in difficulty depending on the distance and length of time being used.

Entering the classroom, I saw the Vice-President already seated. She gave me a brief nod before tapping the seat beside her, which I took to mean I should sit next to her. Not wishing to be rude, I took her up on her offer and placed my rear on the chair. She asked me if I'd come across any problems on my patrol, to which I answered no, before the teacher came in. I didn't recognise this teacher, as she was apparently a last-minute replacement for the usual Practical Magic instructor on account of him having accidentally messed up on an experimental spell regarding teleportation. According to our stand-in teacher, he got separated from his left leg and right arm, resulting in him needing the assistance of the Crafting and Synthesis Head Professor to make some sort of metal substitute until his actual limbs were found. Saying that, there wasn't much hope since the spell backfire could have completely disintegrated them.

Although the teacher was a stand-in, she proved to be quite capable at her job as she effortlessly used several simple spells combined into one another to hand out reference papers, write on the board, as well as keep an eye on the students to ensure they were paying attention. I have to admit, hearing the student at the back yelp out upon being shocked awake by the teacher's spell proved a little entertaining. "Class is for learning, not sleeping."

She watched the class fill up, everyone filled in spots next to someone they already knew. She waved to someone who sat at the end of the row she was one, but they didn’t move closer to initiate any further contact with her. Lisette didn’t mind it, as she happily interacted with everyone around her.

When she heard a male ask her a question to sit next to her, she looked up at the male in question. He was freshly clean, just out from the shower as she could tell. His white hair, and his eyes that similarly matched. He’s very handsome—ahhh Lisette don’t think about things like that!!

She smiled brightly and openly offered the seat next to her. “Oh yes, please do! I’m Lisette, it’s nice to meet you!”

"Good morning and nice to meet you. I'm Alba." He smiled back to her while replying.

He sat down next to Lisette. Then, the instructor entered the room and walked to the in front of the blackboard.

"Alright. The class is starting now."

As he introduced himself back to her, she bobbed her head in excitement. She probably would have continued talking had the instructor not arrived and started class. Lisette pulled out her notebook and diligently wrote down everything the Professor noted on the board, as well as dictated. Everything about this process intrigued her, and how to best use this knowledge to her future goals and ideas.

Enchantments can be used in multiple ways. It depends on if you want a permanent effect or a temporary effect.

A permanent effect deals with the craft of the item, tool, or ingredient itself. You want to ensure that the energy you infuse while crafting and synthesizing mixes well to up the quality, the grade, and any potential stat boosts that could help the user for future use. These effects are long lasting, depending on the level of the magic user, it may take more than a [dispel] spell to take off effect.

A temporary effect lies slowly [on the individual] for those who may want to infuse their own energy into a weapon or tool for a short amount of time. This would apply to any individuals who wish to add an elemental or arcane based spell to their offensive attack. These spells last as long as the wielder allows it, and also allows for flexible for the caster to change depending on the outcome.

Her notes went on, as she scribbled, sometimes she ran out of space and wrote in the small margins on the side. She even doodled on the top of the page. This helped keep her focused even when listening to the professor. All in all, it was all so new and fresh, which Lisette absorbed like a sponge. She continued to write notes, even as her pencil broke and she scrambled to grab her extra one in her bag. She definitely didn’t want to miss any important notes.

With the second class finished, I double-checked my schedule and saw it was Advanced Literacy. I wondered whether the books we would be studying would be in Runic, Ancient or Common language, which got me thoroughly excited. Of course, I was somewhat pulled out of my reverie when the Vice-President tugged on my hair before pointing at her own schedule. I peered over and saw we had the same class again, and so smiled at her.

"Want to sit next to each other again, Lady Fitrani?"

I received a curt yes as she pushed her dark red hair over her shoulder and walked on ahead of me with a small entourage of noble girls following behind her with beaming eyes while still showing the decorum expected of noble girls. "Ah, it seems her fan club is as devout as ever, even taking the same classes as her." I thought as a fellow Third Year boy opened the door for me when we were about to enter.

"Thank you!" I said with a grateful smile.

I think he started mumbling something while looking slightly flushed but I didn't manage to catch it as he rushed to a seat diagonally behind where the Vice-President had chosen. Wondering if there was a summer cold beginning to pass around due to everyone getting together for the new term, I cast a small spell to keep harmful substances at bay before sitting next to Lady Fitrani. As such, the lesson went by smoothly and without a hitch as the teacher listed the books we would be studying for the first few weeks. I was ecstatic as they appeared to be books written in the Ancient language which greatly interested me on account of different perspectives and historical influences.

Writing notes for other book titles to read that would provide more insight into the authors of our specified books, along with what contemporaries of that time wrote, I soon had a long list of close to twenty different books I needed to read within two weeks. Then the teacher gave us the homework of reading the first specified book and writing an essay on our thoughts on it. As soon as the teacher finished talking, the bell rang signalling the end of the lesson.

I wondered how everyone in the other classes were doing, especially the First Years. I hoped my siblings hadn't caused too much trouble...

The notes about the enhancement were really long. Alba definitely thought that he couldn't write all of it in time so he put all effort into summarising those paragraph into a stupid simple note he understood. Although, the note will probably confuse every person who came across.

Temp = elastic: boost with spell. User control time and output
Perm = plastic: long-lasting, quality = User's magic and compatible. 'Dispel' cannot undo.

His note was simple. No more than two lines for each keyword. If he needed more explanation, he probably just wrote a new note and put it between pages. Alba glanced at Lisette who already wrote about 2/3 of the page after few minutes into the lecture.

'Bruh.'

Lisette finished scribbling down her notes, knowing that once she got back to her room later she’d have to re-write them to be legible. As she placed her pencil down the stretch her fingers she felt a stare coming from her new seat buddy Alba.

He was staring at her mess of notes, and all she could do was gape in pure embarrassment. Hoping the professor wouldn’t catch her talking, she whispered over with quite the flustered face. “Sorry—I get excited about subjects I enjoy.” She gave a soft chuckle behind her hand. “It’s really fu—!”

Before she could say anything beyond that, she felt the sharp pain of a chalk board crayon collide right into her forehead.

She grabbed her forehead in pain as the Professor stood at the front with their arms crossed. “Let it be known that talking is not permitted during lecture. First Years should quietly write notes and not talk. Questions will be held during the seminar. Understood?”

Lisette held her forehead with one hand, and the other gave a shaky thumbs up in silent approval. And she looked back to Alba with a bit of pain. ~sorry~ she worded silently with a bit of an apologetic face.

Enchantments would be a bit strict, but it was still enjoyable. She smiled despite the pulse of pain on her forehead.

With it now being lunch time, I began thinking about what to have at the cafeteria when the guy from before asked if he could have lunch with me.
"If you're okay with having me." I said with a smile.
I could have sworn his cold was getting worse, since his cheeks had flushed to become an even deeper shade than before.
"Are you okay? Did you catch a cold?"

He waved his hands in front of him while looking away, before saying we should be going to the cafeteria before the students from other classes arrived. I nodded and followed him before we were stopped by the Vice-President with her entourage. She said something about the guy having a fiancee and that it was improper to be inviting other girls out for meals before leaving with her entourage.

"Oh? You're already engaged with someone? How lucky! Congratulations! I wish you all the best. However...what has that got to do with us having lunch together?" I asked while tilting my head, before putting a hand to my chin and supporting it with my other one crossed under my chest.

He seemed a little nervous as he looked down at me, but I think he must have been affected by his fever since his eyes didn't seem focused on my face but lower down. Leaning forward to try and catch his gaze, I smiled and decided if Lady Fitrani thought it improper, then she was probably right. "It must be a noble thing that hasn't been taught in Social Etiquette class." I thought to myself.

"Sorry, I don't want to cause problems with your peers. Enjoy your lunch!" I then walked out of the room only to bump into the Student Council Secretary who was out of breath from what I assumed was his worsening cold.

"Are you okay? Are you sure you shouldn't go to the Infirmary to have your health checked?" I asked him.

He shook his head and explained he had been power-walking here so he could meet up with me for lunch. I showed surprise that he would power-walk over here just to say that when he could have just headed to the cafeteria and looked for me there. "Sure, I'll eat with you. We can discuss our patrol routes while we're at it." I said with a smile as I headed towards the cafeteria. I think I heard him mumble something to the other guy but I didn't catch it and thought it must have been something to do with a subject they're both doing. The Secretary caught up with me soon enough with a beaming smile on his face. "He must be really looking forward to lunch. I know I am!"

"Ah." He started to review the situation in last 10 seconds in his mind. From Lisette realised that he looking at her note. Her talk like a sugar high kid. Flying crayon. And Question during the seminar. 'Troublesome. I wonder if I can sleep through it.'

The seminar was relatively easy. It's just what is an enchantment, its effects, how can it be applied, and so on. And then the professor gave us an arch-enemy of all the student ever exist. Homework. The question was 'What happens if apple both type of enchantment to the item at the same time?'. A troublesome question with different answers. 'I'll do it later'.

The professor left the room when the bell rang. Other students ran out of the room and headed to the cafeteria, it's probably going to be very crowded in there. Alba packed his stuff into the bag and prepared to leave.

"Hey, Lisette. Want to go cafeteria together?"

After the bell rand, but before the professor left, Lisette stood up and quite boisterously called them out, “Excellent throw Professor! See you Wednesday!” With an exasperated sigh from them leaving, and some chuckles from students that were leaving the room, she smiled happily. Boy that’s smarts!

She heard her sit companion Alba packing up his stuff, so she quickly gathered her things to stuff them in her bag. And her ears, they were graced upon by a question she had Not quite expected. “G-go? Uhh—Yeah! That will be fun! Let’s go together Alba!” She got excited about eating lunch with one of her classmates. “I’m starving!“ She pulled her backpack over one of her shoulders as she waited for Alba to lead the way.

Reaching the Cafeteria, I and the Secretary queued up for food. We were lucky in that we didn't need to wait for long as our turn to get food soon arrived. Since I would be going on a patrol right after lunch, I decided to get something light and so opted for a chicken pasta salad and a cereal bar for dessert. The Secretary, on the other hand, piled his plate high with a steak, fried mushrooms, fried onions, pommes frites, green beans, grilled tomatoes and a black peppercorn sauce. He then chose two desserts: one was a slice of apple pie; the other a meringue nest with fruit, chocolate shavings and whipped cream.

I may have stared at his food a little longer than was appropriate as he bashfully smiled at me and said he was always hungry before we made our way to a free table. As we began tucking into our food, I wondered if I would see any of the First Years I had become acquainted with.

Hey, Lisette. Want to go cafeteria together?... Did I just say that? Hahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That was really terrible phrasing. Whatever.

Alba decided to push that memory away as he saw that Lisette's face was telling him that she's only thinking about lunch now. He walked through the hallway with Lisette following him. In his eyes, she looks like she has a flower CG blooming all around her. Later, we arrived at the canteen and lined up for the food. He chose fish platter with bread and cheese for his lunch.

What? Class is over already? I must have dozed off.

When Elizabeth regained her senses, she was greeted by the sight of an empty classroom. Her eyes are wide open, so no one suspects her of falling asleep in the middle of the lecture.

'You shouldn't sleep with your eyes open too often. It's not good for your health."

'Our health.'

Elizabeth ignored the voices and listened to her rumbling stomach instead. Perhaps a trip to the cafeteria is in order.

As I was discussing patrol routes with the Secretary, I saw Lisette enter the cafeteria with a white-haired boy. "Oh? I see she's made a new friend." I smiled warmly before waving at them then pointing at the two seats available at our table. The Secretary asked if I knew them, so I nodded.

"I know one of them. The girl. She's called Lisette and she's a very cute underclassman."

He asked me if it was the same Lisette wanting to open up a shop, to which I nodded with a big smile on my face. I saw him then stare intently at the two First Years before I resumed eating my food.

Happily queuing in line for food, she retrieved a couple pieces of bread, some bite sized cheese, fruits, and some fried thing that reminded her of beef sticks. She wasn’t sure how it would taste, but she was hungry, nothing else seemed to matter. With food and tray in hand, she looked out to the filling tables. Lisette looked up almost expectantly at Alba, “Where do you want to sit? Outside, inside?” She smiled happily.

And then she noticed Veronika waving at her. She held her food in one arm, and hyperly waved her hand up in the air to her with great gusto. Smiling all the while

'Hey, isn't that..."

'...The SCP.'

'...The other Liz.'

'... And the dark magic boy?'

'Hurry up and leave this place before they spotted you!"

'Spotted us, you mean."

'Have you no sense of self preservation? Three against one is overkill!'

'Stop thinking everyone is trying to kill us. The staffs won't let them do that. See that janitor over there?'

'What about him?'

'He knows kung-fu. I'm starting to think the requirements of joining the school's staffs is to know kung-fu. If someone wants to kill us, they won't be doing that in broad daylight.'

'Besides, we can just kill them first before they can kill us.'

As I was waiting to see if the white-haired boy and Lisette would join us, I noticed the girl I found unconscious on Opening Ceremony day. I was glad to see she seemed to be okay but wanted to know who her assailant had been. As such, I quickly got up from my seat and asked the Secretary to keep the seats safe while I had a quick conversation with the girl.

"Excuse me! You're the girl who had a syringe in her arm and was unconscious in the corridor, right?" I asked with a smile before continuing, "If it's okay to ask, do you remember who attacked you?" I showed genuine worry and concern as I waited for her answer before realising my rudeness.

"Ah, where are my manners? I'm Veronika Taylore, the Student Council President. I unfortunately never found out what your name was that day, would you mind saying?" I smiled congenially as I awaited her response while hoping the Secretary would be welcoming to the First Years if they sat with us.

Alba thought about answering the question but he saw Lisette waved back at the girl on the faraway table. 'She probably knew her right?'

"How about sitting with your friend? It seems like she saved some seats for us."

'Ah.' Then the lady got up from her seat and went to the girl that seems to be avoiding people as she's scared or anxious about something.
