Caring about ratings and ranking is a signs of competitiveness. We casuals don't do that here. Only WN and RR tourists do.

If I see someone bitching about them and they have patreon links, I won't read their story. Competitive follow meta. The meta is always slop.

No rooms for experimentation mean everyone's story is the same. It's like netdecking.

No creativity, just following the same list.

But most want the journey to lead somewhere. You cannot fault them for that sentiment. Encouragement of any form is highly appreciated and keeps an author going. So, obviously, they would naturally strive for it.
