I was just looking through my chapters and noticed in the first 3 chapters, I used first person, then on the fourth chapter, I switched to third person.:blob_facepalm: Time to go through my writing and fix it all:blob_frown:

What's the most embarrassing mistake you've made and published?

17K words of telling instead of showing. I'm still learning, but my first pass was bad.
*wince* It's great that you realized that! I've read books from veteran published authors who continue to make that mistake and it's disappointing!
Wrote like 240 KWords in the wrong PoV.

Thankfully never published, but it was a near thing (almost sold the story to Baen)
oops!:blob_sweat:

Other than posting chapters to the wrong story, the same one you did (except it was chapters seven and eight in third person in an otherwise first person story - caught it as I was about to upload 8)

Princess Rosalynd's eyes are light green.

Twice I described them as dark green. I hate when I do that.
Then I have Ranía wearing a blue dress at the end of one chapter, and at the beginning of the next chapter it's white.

Not exactly published, but when I finished my first 90k word novel, I sent it into a beta reader because I was too excited and knew they'd love it as much as I did. Their response was telling me that I genuinely wrote a sixth grader (but a very enthusiastic one), and all my dialogue which I thought was a strong suit, was trying way too hard to sound philosophical. I've spent years working on my writing since then, and can confidently say I'm now at least at an eighth grade level.
