I've told this story before in my profile page, but this is as recent as last year.
See, our school has a computer laboratory, where we keep all our computer-related equipment and gadgets. Together with two other teachers, I took up office in this room--a small division where a rattan divider marked our private space. The rest of the room is open space which we can convert into a computer-equipped class, or conference area, depending on the necessity.
Now then, there's this one day where I was busy with school stuff. That was around late into the afternoon (3pm to 4pm), and a few of my students met me at the grounds outside the computer room. As the Philippines is one tropical hot hell-hole, our students loved to stay by air-conditioned areas in the school, one of which was our computer laboratory.
Our conversation went like this...
Student 1: "Hi Sir Hans! We have nothing else to do!"
Me: "What are you doing here, then? Why are you not in your classroom?"
Student 2: "It's hot there, Sir! Can we stay by the comlab? (COMputer LABoratory)"
Me: "Ah, sure!"
As I had something else to do before going back to our comlab, I told them to go ahead of me. I went straight to my other class and gave them some instructions for class later that day. Then, after that, I went straight to the comlab.
It was relatively dark by then, for my other co-teachers either went home or in their respective classes. We would turn off the lights whenever the afternoon sun is shining bright, but the room is relatively dark with lights out. When I entered, it was quiet, but, I saw someone's hand waving at me through the rattan divider.
As I like to play pranks with my students, I planned on surprising them as I walked to the rattan divider. Then, lo and behold, as I came to our private area, I was shocked to see that no one was there. Not a single soul.
If so, then whose hand was waving at me?
Alarmed, I went to the small faculty of the Science department, which was immediately to my right side. A co-teacher was there, hidden. I asked her, "Ma'am, is there anyone here?"
"No, sir. I'm completely alone! Why?"
Unnerved, I told this story to my fellow co-teachers in my subject department. One of them told me that earlier that day, another co-teacher from the very same Science faculty got locked by herself (with the lock on her side) and had to call out for someone's help via Facebook messenger because the door just won't open.
And really, that door also has a reputation to open even if I lock it securely. It didn't help that our CCTV camera in the room would detect movements in the middle of the wee hours of the morning (1am to 3am), and our guards would tell us stories of them hearing children playing in the corridors in the middle of the night (and everyone has gone home).
Addendum: btw, about the door, I just experienced another unexplained thing about it as recent as yesterday. It was around 7pm, and some of my students were fixing a few articles for the school newspaper. I already turned off many of the equipment as we prepare to leave for the day. I also checked everything was in order, including this door to the Science department, which I ensured it was locked properly.
Then, as I watched my students, I noticed it was open again. My students said that I quit playing pranks on them, but I told them how I can play pranks when I feel sick (even now, because of pneumonia).
I got more uncanny experiences, but I'll stop here for now so as not to 'dilute' my stories.
