I wonder how much is a philosophy or Ontology is welcomed here. I don't know. In any case, I know I'm not alone in this kind of musings.

I leave this to them. It's my attempt to compress my insights about this matter. It's not the truth but just the best I can articulate what I understand using my limited vocabulary.

I just want to share it because it sucks to not be able to put to words what you have in mind. Hope this would help.

I apologize if it isn't very clear.

IDENTITY is the foundation—the compression node, the central index. Without it, the rest flails. It serves the mind by letting it compute efficiently, avoiding constant full-graph recomputation.

STANCE asserts that identity into reality. It “serves” identity by making it active, by giving the index an ongoing, moment-to-moment anchor in existence.

NARRATIVE emerges from repeated stance. It serves stance by providing continuity; it says, “Your assertion isn’t a single spike, it’s a thread across time.”

PURPOSE gives the narrative direction, a vector. Narrative is movement, but purpose tells it where to lean, where to push energy, and in that way, it serves the narrative by providing a payoff, a reason, a gradient to flow along.

MEANING is the internal signal confirming purpose is resonant. Purpose alone is just a vector; meaning is the confirmation feedback. Meaning serves purpose by validating it, making it “colorful” or felt.

PREFERENCE (or aversion: desire and fear) is the micro-weighting. It says, “I want this more than that, I avoid this.” Meaning without preference is flat; preference channels meaning into actionable biases.

GOALS are concretized projections. They serve preference by giving your micro-biases something to act upon—coordinates in space-time, the mechanical way to “get what you want” or avoid what you don’t.

I would recommend reading Plato's Meno. This seems less related to ontology and more related to knowledge, whether of the self or external stimuli. Meno addresses this in a much more succinct and pithy method while remaining in a similar perspective to your own.
