Hi everyone! Author Rest here.

It's been exactly one month since I started posting my story "FabL" here on Scribble Hub. Looking at my stats today, I was surprised to see 65 Readers on my list!

To be honest, I was really nervous. I was constantly worried about whether my story would be accepted in the English-speaking world, or if it would even be read at all.

But back when I started posting this story on Japanese web novel sites (like Narou), it actually took me much longer to get this kind of traction. So, finding out that 65 people are already following Yu's journey in just the first month makes me feel incredibly relieved and happy.

I just wanted to say thank you to this community for giving a chance to a translated story. The daily updates are hard work, but seeing these numbers grow makes it worth it.

I'm curious: Is 65 readers in the first month considered a "good" start here? Or is it just beginner's luck? I'd love to hear how your first month went!

Thanks again!

My first month was slow. But that’s to be expected for the type of media I am posting. It’s a complete fantasy novel, a slow burn one at that. So it doesn’t fit the mould of what usually gets readers and views on here. But it’s something that means a lot to me, and if it ends up meaning something to just a handful of people, I’ll be happy

It depends on your genre... engagement is relative and influenced by many factors. If you're focusing on a popular genre like gender bender, getting 65 readers a month isn't bad... and could be even better.

If you're focusing on less popular genres like josei, history, politics, and drama, getting 65 readers a month is an impressive and solid achievement.

For comparison, my fiction genres are action, fantasy, and drama... pretty standard but not a popular genre... my readership is around 280 in 7 months, or 40 readers per month.

This is far less than yours in the same timeframe. But it's a solid readership for its segment.

Usually, your story grows the fastest at the beginning, so I wouldn't say you are behind in terms of readers... not like that number matters in the first place.

Narou only have Japanese readers (and some Gaijin who can read Japanese) but Scribble Hub have readers from all over the world. That's why.

Thanks everyone for the warm comments!

@Eldoria
Thanks for the detailed breakdown! My story is technically "Gender Bender", but it's also a "Nobledark / Serious" story with slow pacing, so I was worried it might be too niche. Hearing that 65 readers/month is a "solid" pace compared to your experience gives me a lot of confidence. I'll keep going!

@Macha That makes sense! It's amazing to feel connected to the world.

@Rachel & @FRWriter Thanks for the encouragement. I'll focus on enjoying the writing process!

Hi everyone! OP here with a quick update.
It's been a little over two weeks since my first post (back when I had 65 readers), and I woke up today to see I finally hit the 100 readers milestone!
Thank you so much. It really makes me happy to see people enjoying Yu's journey.
For those of you who have been writing here for a while, do you remember when you hit your first 100 readers? I'd love to hear your stories!

Overnight, I think. I bulk uploaded and woke up to 150 readers. But that was a long time ago. Now, discoverability is an issue for new authors.

Thank you! Wow, waking up to 150 readers overnight sounds like an absolute dream! But I definitely agree with you, discoverability feels like a real challenge for new authors nowadays.

Congrats. Hope the number of reader of your stories increases.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words and the support.

Congratulations!!!
